BELIZE DISTRICT

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On the 21st of August 2017 at 5:35pm, police visited Vernon Street, Belize City, where they met Marquise CONERQUE, 18-year-old Unemployed of Cet Site, with a gunshot wound to the right thigh. Investigation revealed that CONERQUE and a companion were on Laura Dunn Street when a male person came from behind a wooden house and fired a single shot in their direction, causing his injury. CONERQUE and his companion then ran through the burial ground onto Vernon Street and the perpetrator ran in the direction of Antelope Street. Police Investigation Continues.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

On the 22nd of August 2017 at 2:34pm, 33-year-old Melonie SILVA reported that sometime between 7:35am and 1:00pm on the said date, her red 2013 Kia Sportage with license plate: BCC -57966 was stolen from the corner of Hudson Street and Marine Parade Boulevard, Belize City, where she had it parked. Police are investigating.

ARSON

Orin JOSEPH, 34-year-old of Rock Ville, George Price Highway, Belize City, reported that on the 19th of August 2017 at 1:30am, he and his wife left home and headed to Belize City. Upon their return home at 6:00am, he noticed that his1996 blue MPV Mazda van which was parked in front of his yard was burnt. He stated that before leaving his home his van was in good condition.
