CULTIVATION OF CANNABIS / UNLICENSED FIREARM

At 5:05pm on the 16th of August 2017, Police visited a farm located about four miles west of Cotton Tree Village, Cayo District, where they observed a palm hut and saw one, Rosendo CUNIL, 47 year old Belizean Farmer of Cotton Tree Village, in a hammock. A search was conducted on CUNIL that led to the discovery of 54 grams of cannabis. A further search in the hut led to the discovery of (6) 16 gauge cartridges and a 16 gauge shotgun without serial number for which he did not have a license. Police then conducted a search about 100 feet away from the hut which led to the discovery of three small marijuana plantations, containing a total of (638) plants ranging from 3 inches to 3 feet in height. CUNIL have since been detained pending charges.
