BELIZE DISTRICT

MURDER

On the 21st of June 2017 at 6:36pm, police responded to shots being fired on Kings Street, in front of Teddy's Music and DVD Rental in Belize City, where they saw the body of Jermaine FRANKLIN, 36-year-old of Belize City, lying on the pavement with gunshot wounds to the back. Investigation revealed that at 6:35pm. FRANKLIN was inside Teddy's Music and DVD Rental located on #16 Kings Street, Belize City, when a male person walked inside and fired several shots at him. Swift police response led to the detention of the person whom police believed was the perpetrator. The body of Jermaine FRANKLIN was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where it awaits a post mortem examination. Police investigations continue.
 
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Helmin Jose SANDOVAL, 25-year-old of #7780 Mahogany Street Extension, Belize City, reported that between the hours of 1:00am and 7:00am on the 21st of June 2017, his red Meilun brand dirt bike motorcycle with License Plate # MC-4383 was stolen while parked in front of his house. Police are investigating.

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 21st of June 2017at about 10:30am, police on mobile patrol in Ontario village saw a blue Toyota pickup truck coming in the opposite direction with excess velocity. The vehicle was subsequently searched which led to the discovery of (37) parcels of suspected cannabis amounting to 33,011 grams. Person detained Jasson Miller LEMUS pending charges.
 
PUNTA GORDA TOWN

ARSON

On the 21st of June 2017, Clarentina COC, 23-year-old of Graham Creek Village, Toledo District, reported that on the 17th of June 2017 at 10:00pm, she was at home when she heard a noise coming from outside. Upon checking, she saw a man setting her thatched roof on fire. The house was completely destroyed by fire along with house hold items. Police are investigating.
