BELIZE CITY
ATTEMPT MURDER
On the 8th of June 2017 at 9:00pm, Belize City Police visited an unfenced residential yard in the Police Street area, Belize City, where they saw John HOARE, 50-year-old Security Guard of Simon Lamb Street, Belize City, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Investigation revealed that at approximately 8:50pm, HOARE was sitting in the yard guarding slot machines owned by Princess Casino when he was approached by two male persons, one of whom took out a firearm and fired several shots at him and stole his company's license 9mm firearm with a magazine containing 8 live rounds of ammunition. He was rushed to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he received medical treatment and was admitted to ward. His condition is described as critical. Police investigations continue.
DRUGS FOUND
On the 8th of June 2017 at 6:45am, police conducted a search in an abandoned lot on Electric Avenue, Belize City, which led to the discovery of (3) plastic bags containing 666.9 grams of cannabis. The suspected drug was deposited as Found Property.
On the 8th of June 2017 at 6:00am, police conducted a search in an abandoned lot on Holy Emmanuel Street, Belize City, which led to the discovery two plastic bags containing 528.6 grams of cannabis. The drug was deposited as Found Property.
SAN PEDRO TOWN
KEPT FIREARM WITHOUT A GUN LICENCE
On the 8th of June 2017 at 9:10am, while San Pedro Police were conducting an Anti- Drug operation in the San Pedrito area, they searched the residence of George COWO which resulted in the discovery of a .38 revolver containing six rounds of ammunition. Police have arrested and charged George COWO for the offence of Kept Firearm and Ammunition without a Gun License.
PUNTA GORDA TOWN
DRUG TRAFFICKING
On the 8th of June 2017 at 8:00am, police conducted a search at the residence of George MOREIRA, 52-year-old Fisherman, located on #26 Far West Street, Punta Gorda Town. Present at the time of the search were MOREIRA and Kevin PANDY, 41-year-old of a Belize City address. The search resulted in the discovery of 121grams of cannabis. Police have since arrested and charged both MOREIRA and PANDY for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
