COROZAL DISTRICT

DOUBLE MURDER

On the 7th of June 2017, at 1:47pm, Corozal Police visited a feeder road at miles 2½ on Consejo Road where the bodies of Zeida OROZCO, 33-year-old Domestic of San Andres Village, and Baltazar LOPEZ, 41-year-old Mason of Ranchito Village, were found in an advanced stage of decomposition. Investigation revealed that a man went to dispose of garbage on the feeder road when he came across a foul stench and upon making checks he came across the bodies and immediately alerted the Police. Both Zeida OROZCO and Baltazar LOPEZ were reported missing on the 2nd of June 2017. The post mortem certified the cause of death to OROZCO as blunt force trauma to the head and LOPEZ from gunshot wound to the head.
 
ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 7th of June 2017 at 1:50pm, upon receiving information of a person with drugs at the customs office, Orange Walk Police visited the office at Market Lane, Orange Walk Town, where Omar Rufino RAMIREZ, 28-year-old Laborer of San Lazaro Village, was found with 461 grams of cannabis. Police have since detained RAMIREZ pending charges of Drug Trafficking.

BELIZE CITY

ROBBERY

At 4:00pm on the 7th of June 2017, Irvin CARRANZA, 24-year-old Salvadoran Gas Attendant at Gas Tomza located at 1 1/2 Miles George Price Highway, reported that on the 6th of June 2017, at about 8:40pm, he was inside the office of Gas Tomza when a male person who was armed with a knife approached him and demanded money. Fearing for his life, he handed over the money from the day sales which amounted to $3,600.00 and a black and white in color HTC cell phone. The male person then escaped on a bicycle heading down the George Price Highway towards Fabers Road junction, making good his escape. Police investigations continue.
 
SAN IGNACIO TOWN

BURGLARY

Johnny Alexander GONZALEZ, 24-year-old Secretary of Eden Primary School, Santa Elena Town, reported that between the hours of 4:45pm on the 5th of June 2017 and 7:45am on the 6th of June 2017, the school was broken into. Stolen from inside were electronic items including laptops and other items valued at over $7,000.00. The entry was made through his office after which the keys for the classrooms were taken. San Ignacio Police is seeking the assistance from the public in solving this burglary and reminds you not buy stolen goods as it is a serious crime. Investigation continues.

HATTIEVILLE VILLAGE

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 7th of June 2017 at 6:00am, members of the Mobile Interdiction Team searched the residence Ryan Edward GENTLE located in Mahogany Heights Village, Belize District. Present at the time of the search were Ryan Edward GENTLE and Natasha Nicole SMITH, both of same address. The search resulted in the discovery of 523 grams of cannabis. Police have since arrested and charged GENTLE and SMITH for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
