FATAL ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On the 1st of June 2017 at 10:17pm, information was received of a fatal road traffic accident on the Corozal Cane Traffic Road involving a Motorcycle and a parked trailer at the BSI area. Investigations revealed that Rigoberto COBA, 33-year-old Resident of Guinea Grass Village and Voluntary Special Constable, was travelling on a motorcycle from Orange Walk to Belize City when he reportedly crashed into a trailer that was parked on the side of the road and died on the spot. Police investigation continues.
 
BELIZE CITY

THEFT OF MOTORCYCLE 

Anthony FRANCISCO, 34-year-old of Poinsetta Street, Belize City, reported that sometime between the hours of 11:00pm on the 31st of May 2017 and 7:30am on the 1st of June 2017, someone stole his red 2013 Meilun brand motorcycle with license plate number MC-3784 that was parked and properly secured in his yard. Police are investigating.

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On the 2nd of June 2017, at about 12:02am, a police officer attached to the San Ignacio Police Station had parked a blue Ford F-150 Pickup Truck on King Street in front of the San Ignacio Police Station when a brown Chevy Silverado Pickup, driven at the time by Eugene FLOWERS, 36-year-old of Santa Elena Town, collided into the back of the blue Ford Truck, causing damages to its tail gate, left tail light and to the left, rear portion. The impact caused the Ford F-150 to collide into two lamp posts that are situated a couple feet away, causing extensive damages to its front portion. FLOWERS was accompanied by Joel SIERRA, 27-year-old of Santa Elena Town, and Luis GARCIA, 27-year-old also of Santa Elena Town. All three occupants of the Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck sustained head and body injuries. Eugene FLOWERS could not produce a driver’s license at the time and was detained pending charges of (1) Drove Motor Vehicle without due care and attention and (2) Drove Motor Vehicle with Alcohol Concentration above the Prescribed Limit; (3) Failed to produce Driver’s License and (4) Drove Unlicensed Motor Vehicle.
