FOUND PROPERTY

On the 20th of April 2017 at about 12:00pm, police conducted a search in an abandoned lot on Riverside Street in the Saint Martin’s area, Belize City, which led to the discovery of a homemade 16 gauge firearm. No one was found within the immediate area and the firearm was deposited as Found Property.

CITY OF BELMOPAN

ARSON

On the 20th of April 2017 at about 11:35am, police visited corner of Queen Elizabeth Boulevard and Mandarin Street, Cohune Walk area, Belmopan City, where they saw a black 2007 Honda Pilot SUV vehicle engulfed in flames. Anna VILLACORTE, 38-year-old of a Lime Street address, Cohune Walk area, reported that on the said date between the hours 6:00am and 12:30pm, she parked the vehicle and around 12:30pm, she was informed that the vehicle was on fire. Police are investigating.
 
TOLEDO DISTRICT

MURDER

On the 20th of April 2017 at around 5:30pm, police responded to information of a person lying on the side of the road, about half mile from the junction of Jalacte Village, Toledo District. Police proceeded to the area where they saw Carlos pop XOL, 42-year-old Guatemalan Businessman of San Fernando Cha'al Alta Verapaz, Guatemala City, lying motionless and apparently dead. He was observed with several stab and cut wounds to the body. He was transported to the Punta Gorda Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:30pm. Police investigations continue.
