RAPE
On the 16th of April 2017, a 17-year-old female student, accompanied by her mother, reported that on the 16th of April 2017 at 12:30am, she was sleeping on a couch inside the living room and was awaken when she felt someone on top of her having sexual intercourse with her without her consent. Medical examination was conducted on the female certifying that she was raped. Police have since arrested and charged 39-year-old Eldon WILLIAMS, unemployed of San Pedrito area, San Pedro Ambergris Caye, for Rape.
BELIZE CITY
HOUSE FIRE
On the 17th of April 2017 at around 3:15pm, police visited the Chateau Caribbean located at #6 Marine Parade, Belize City, where they saw a damaged three story wooden and cement structure engulfed in flames. Belize National Fire Services personnel managed to extinguish the blaze. The structure had been previously damaged by fire on the 27th of November 2016. A park official reported that he saw smoke coming from the Chateau Caribbean building and later started to see flames. He mentioned that he did not see anyone suspicious or anything strange in the area. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
On the 16th of April 2017 at 2:00pm, police visited #7379 Elston Kerr Street, Belize City, where they observed fire personnel extinguishing a fire inside a room located on the western side of a wooden bungalow house belonging to Dawn FABER, 52-year-old Domestic of Belize City. Initial investigations revealed that on the said date at 1:45pm, someone had attempted to barbeque on a grill which was placed beside the wall of the house and shortly after the house was on fire. A mattress and an undetermined amount of clothing were completely destroyed. The house was uninhabited and no one was injured. Police investigations continue.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT`
On the 13th of April 2017 at around 8:38pm, John Milton TILLETT, 66-year-old General Contractor of Marigold lane, Belize City, was escorted to the Caribbean Shores Station in his Silver and Red Ford F-250. He reported that at around 6:30pm, he left Ladyville to Belize City and that while driving down the Phillip Goldson Highway and upon reaching between miles 2 and 3, he was reaching the intersection in front of the DK Supermarket driving at 30 miles per hour when suddenly Daniel RAMOS, 72-year-old Welder of Golding Avenue, ran across the highway, heading in the direction of the Supermarket. He stated that upon seeing the man he immediately applied the brakes and turned the steering wheel to avoid hitting the person, but to no avail. RAMOS was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment with abrasions to the knees and face, a cut wound to forehead and a broken right arm. He is in a stable condition. A Notice of Intended Prosecution was served to TILLETT.
