Reference the Murder of Adiel MOJICA, on the 3rd of April 2017, Police arrested and charged 40-year-old Saul REYES and 47-year-old Juan ORELLANA for the Crime of Murder.



On the 3rd of April 2017 at 12:42am, Francisco Javier GUTIERREZ, 55-year-old of Belize City, reported that, between the hours of 10:00pm and 11:00pm, someone stole his white and blue 25ft Mexican Lanchon fiber glass skiff with the name NAUTICA along with (2) 40hp Yamaha boat engines. The skiff also had onboard: (1) 250 gallons water container, (1) Galvanize anchor and (4) life jackets. Police investigation continues.

On the 3rd of April 2017 at 9:45pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Jeffery Benedict MARTINEZ, 28-year-old Construction Worker of Belize City, suffering from gunshot injuries to the left side of the abdomen, the right elbow and the right leg. Investigations revealed that, on the 3rd of April 2017 at 9:30pm, MARTINEZ was standing in front of his yard when he heard several shots fired and realized he was injured. MARTINEZ was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment where his condition is described as critical. Police investigation continues.
On the 3rd of April 2017 at 9:50pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Reese RIVEROL, 24-year-old Laborer of Belize City, suffering from gunshot wounds to his right ankle and Joseph ROWLAND, 27-year-old Mechanic also of Belize City, was seen with cuts and abrasions on both legs. Initial investigations revealed that both RIVEROL and ROWLAND were on a motorcycle heading from Pelican Street to Raccoon Street when a person (or persons) in a black SUV approached them from behind and fired shots causing the said injuries. Both men are listed as stable at the KHMH.


On the 3rd of April 2017 at 7:45pm, police visited a farm in Esperanza Village where the body of Florencio Guillermo BARDALEZ, 79-year-old Belizean Farmer of San Ignacio Town, was seen with injuries to his face and head. The body was transported to the San Ignacio Community Hospital Morgue where he was pronounced dead at 10:19pm. The body now awaits a postmortem examination. Police investigation continues.    


On the 30th of March 2017, police were conducting patrols along the Mopan River at 10:40am, where their attention was drawn to 2 Hispanic male persons on the riverside who ran away when they saw the police. Police discovered a black, red and white knapsack containing 2,270 grams of cannabis. The item was labeled as “Found Property”.


Reference the Murder of Edgar Alfonso Perdomo ALDANA which occurred on the 2nd of April 2017; on the 3rd of April 2017, police arrested and charged Marlon PADILLA, 23-year-old Unemployed of Selena Village, Cayo District, for the crime of Murder.
