FATAL ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

At about 6:45pm on the 25th of March 2017, Margarito MATUS, 34-year-old of Orange Walk District, was driving his green 200 Toyota 4Runner travelling from Orange Walk to Corozal and upon reaching Ranchito Village in the vicinity of miles 83 and 84, a blue Melium motorcycle driven by Edwardo Maximiliano SANKER, 25-year-old of Xaibe, collided head-on into the vehicle and died on the spot. MATUS was served with a Notice of Intended Prosecution.
 
ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

At 6:00pm on the 25th of March 2017, Ejidio PATT, 42-year-old Cane Farmer of San Narciso, was driving a black Acura car from San Narciso to San Victor and upon arriving at San Victor, a red Melium motorcycle - driven at the time by a 17-year-old male - collided into the vehicle. The young man was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital and then to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is listed as stable. The young man was reportedly driving without lights and the cycle was not license or insured. Police investigations continue.

BELIZE CITY

MURDER

On the 26th of March 2017 at about 3:25pm, acting upon information received of a stabbing incident, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Marvin LOCKE, 49- year-old Police Constable #844 of Belize City, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen area. Investigations revealed that, on the 26th of March 2017 at about 3:15pm, LOCKE was at Precinct Two, Raccoon Street Police Station compound when Marcial TOLEDO, 47-year-old Honduran National, Laborer of Belize City, reportedly approached him from behind and inflicted the fatal injuries. LOCKE succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment and was pronounced dead by at 5:15pm on the 26th of March 2017. Marcial TOLEDO sustained an injury to his head during his apprehension and was escorted to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for medical treatment where he was admitted to ward under police guard. The body of Marvin LOCKE now lies at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Morgue awaiting a Post Mortem Examination.
 
MURDER

On the 25th of March 2017 at around 2:30am, police responded to a shooting incident at corner Matron Roberts and Kelly Street where they saw Byron MARSHALL, 54-year-old of Belize City, and Nelson NORALEZ, 24-year-old of Pomona, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Investigations revealed that they were approached by two persons who fired several shots at them. They were transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival. Police investigations continue.

MURDER

On the 26th of March 2017 at about 10:08pm, police responded to a shooting incident on Jones Street where they saw Selvin BAHADUR, 40-year-old Laborer of Belize City, with a gunshot wound to the center of the forehead. Investigations revealed that BAHADUR was riding his bicycle from Jones Street to Lawrence Avenue when he was approached by a male person who fired two shots at him causing his fatal injury. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment and was pronounced dead at 11:40pm on the 26th of March 2017. Police are seeking a person of interest as the investigation continues.

PUNTA GORDA TOWN

MANSLAUGHTER BY NEGLIGENCE

On the 24th of March 2017 at about 11:16pm, police responded to a Road Traffic Accident in Cattle Landing Village, on the Southern Highway, between miles 97 and 98, where they saw a black Dodge Intrepid car in the middle of the highway with extensive damages to the front passenger side and a red Honda CRV SUV was seen in the bushes with extensive damages. Beside the Honda was the body of Jennifer HIBBERD, 32-year-old Woman Police Constable #1152 of Punta Gorda Town, attached to the Punta Gorda Police Station. Investigations revealed that, at 10:50pm, Liston ARMSTRONG Jr., 32-year-old of 13 miles Southern Highway, driver of the black Dodge Intrepid car, was travelling from Punta Gorda Town to his residence and while taking the curve in cattle landing Village collided into the SUV being driven at the time by HIBBERD. The body of Jennifer HIBBERD was transported to the Punta Gorda Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival at 12:15am. An Notice of Intended Prosecution was served on ARMSTRONG.
