ALLOW OR SUFFER A CHILD TO BE IN A PUBLIC PLACE

On the 21st of March 2017 at 10:45pm, while police were on patrol on Flamboyant Street they saw a 10-year-old male person walking alone. He was questioned and then escorted to his father residence. Simon AUGUST, 44-year-old Belizean Fisherman of Belize City, was later arrested and charged for the offence “Allow or Suffer a Child to be in a Public Place”. The Quality of life offences campaign continues, this includes “Public Drinking, Littering, Loitering, Bicycle Offences” among others.

SUSPECTED HUMAN REMAINS FOUND

Acting upon information, at about 1:06pm on the 21st of March 2017, of body parts found in a bag in the river by Iguana Creek Bridge, Cayo District, a team of police officers visited the area where approximately 900 meters down the Belize River, a black plastic bag containing a white bag was discovered. The bag contained two amputated arms from elbow down and two amputated feet from the knee down believed to be that of a human. The amputated body parts were taken to the San Ignacio Community Hospital awaiting a post mortem examination. Efforts are being made to locate the other body parts as investigation continues.

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On the 21st of March 2017, police visited the PG Hospital where they saw Geraldo CUS, 31-year-old Construction Worker of Santa Elena, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Investigations revealed that he and his younger brother, Leonardo CUS, 22yrs, went hunting approximately ten mile outside of San Miguel at approximately 6:00pm. They reportedly got separated and about 8:00pm, when Leonardo accidentally shot his brother. At around 9:20pm, with the help of family members, Leonardo got Geraldo out and transported him the Punta Gorda Hospital. He was later pronounced dead at 2:40am. Police investigations continue.
