ORANGE WALK DISTRICT
PARTIAL SKULL FOUND
On the 18th of March 2017 at about 12:25pm, police visited the garbage dump site located on Chan Pine Ridge road, Orange Walk District, where they found the charred remains of a human skull. The partial skull was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital Morgue. DNA testing will be done to confirm the identity.
BELIZE DISTRICT
DROWNING
On the 18th of March 2017 at 4:30pm, police responded to information of a drowning at 24 miles Biscayne Village on the Phillip Goldson Highway and visited the location where they saw the body of a 22-year-old Hipolito MAI lying near a pond of water. Investigation revealed, his common-law wife saw him at 3:10pm, when he went to a pond that is located at approximately two hundred yards from their house. Sometime around 4:25pm, when he did not return to the house she went to look for him. A search was conducted inside the pond which led to the discovery of his body. The body was transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:56pm.
FOUND PROPERTY
On the 17th of March 2017 at 11:15am, a search was conducted in the May Flower area behind a bushy lot situated behind an apartment complex where they discovered 95 grams of cannabis and a bulletproof vest.
On the 17th of March 2017 at 3:10pm, police were conducting a search in an overgrown lot on George Street where a black plastic bag containing 870 grams of cannabis was found hidden underneath some grass.
At around 4:25pm, police conducted a search in an open lot on Haulze Street, where 4 black plastic bags containing cannabis and a black mask were found. A further search was conducted where (4) black plastic bags were found containing cannabis and (4) .9mm rounds. The drugs weighed 369.3 grams and 229.8 grams respectively. The drugs and the rounds were deposited as “Found Property”.
MURDER
On the 19th of March 2017, police responded to information of a chopping incident and visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Julian BURKE, 29-year-old of Belize City, suffering from multiple chop wounds. Investigations revealed that a neighbor heard screaming coming from BURKE’s house and she was seen with cut wounds to her head and both arms. She was transported to the hospital where she was admitted to theatre where her condition was described as critical. Ms. BURKE passed away from her injuries. Police are seeking her brother, Elijah BURKE, whom they believe could assist in the investigation.

WOUNDING
On the 19th of March 2017 around 7:15pm, acting upon information received of a stabbing incident, police visited a clinic on Pasero Street, where they saw a 17-year-old male of a Belize City address suffering from a stab wound to the left shoulder, right hand and abrasions to the head and right hand. Investigations revealed that around 6:00pm, the 17-year-old was socializing at a bar when he got into a fight with Charles ROBINSON, 22-year-old of San Pedro Town, who inflicted the injuries on him. While police attempted to detain ROBINSON he got into a boat in his attempt to escape from police. However, in an effort to avoid being hit by the boat, the police fired a single shot at the engine causing a hole in the engine. Police investigations continue.
