MURDER

On the 25th of February 2017 at 8:50pm, Orange Walk Police acted on information from the Northern Regional Hospital of a stabbing incident. Police visited the hospital where they saw Marcelino CHAN, 54-year-old of San Roman Village, with a cut wound to the left side, both ears and left side of the chest area. Investigation revealed that sometime around 8:30pm, on the said date, he was socializing at a friend’s house and decided to leave. While he was walking on a street in the village he was allegedly attacked from behind by Mario AGUIRRE with a knife. He was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead on arrival at 8:40pm. Mario AGUIRRE, 25-year-old of San Roman Village, is wanted for the crime of Murder. Police are investigating

SHOOTING INCIDENT

At 11:10pm on the 27th of February 2017, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw a 13-year-old male student of Belize City suffering from gunshot wounds to both feet. Investigation revealed that, on the said date at 11:00pm, he was inside his house along with his brother watching television when several gunshots were heard and he realized that he had been shot. He was transported to the K.H.M.H. where he remains in a stable condition.
 
MANSLAUGHTER BY NEGLIGENCE

On the 26th of February 2017 sometime around 6:40pm, police were conducting mobile patrol on Faber’s Road Extension and while approaching the intersection of Kroman Road and Faber’s Road Extension, a car approached travelling at high speed which knocked down Ashanti POLLARD, 6-year-old of Faber’s Road Extension, who was walking along with her mother, Dawn SWASEY, 42yrs. Ashanti received severe head and body injuries and was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival at 8:20pm. Her mother did not receive any serious injury. The car was a silver colored 4-door Toyota Corolla which was driven by Albert MARTINEZ, 43-year-old of Western Pines, who was detained pending charges of “Manslaughter by Negligence, Causing Death by Careless Conduct and Driving without due Care and Attention”.  A urine sample was obtained from Albert MARTINEZ.

MANSLAUGHTER BY NEGLIGENCE

On the 24th of February 2017 at 4:19am, Intermediate Southern Formation received information of a Road Traffic Accident at Santa Rosa Village, Stann Creek District, where police saw Maximo ICAL, 21-year-old of San Roman Village, lying on the road motionless. He suffered severe head injuries. Police also saw a Motorcycle on the side of the road which was broken in two and a Massey Ferguson Tractor. Investigation revealed that the driver of the tractor, Ramiro ORELLANO, 39-year-old of Santa Cruz Village, Stann Creek, reported that at 4:00am he was travelling on the Southern Highway in Santa Cruz Village on the right hand side of the road when a motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction come into his lane and could not avoid the collision. ICAL was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where, at 7:30am, he was pronounced dead. Police are investigating.
