LADYVILLE VILLAGE

ROBBERY 

On the 18th of February 2017 at 8:05am, police responded to a robbery at the Centaurs Communication Corp. Limited office in  Burrell Boom Village, Belize District, where they met the 37-year-old cashier who reported that, sometime around 7:30pm, she was at work when a slim built, male person of  dark complexion, about 5 feet 8 inches in height, with a scar on the left side of his face, walked into the office and took out a black object which appeared to be a 9mm pistol. He then pointed it at her and demanded money and her gold earrings. Fearing for her life she handed over $1,602.00 which was in a metal cash box, collected from customers, along with her gold earrings. The culprit then exited the office and made good his escape. Police are investigating.  
 
BELIZE DISTRICT

MURDER

Acting upon information received on the 19th of February 2017 at about 7:40am, of a body seen on the side of road near the Caribbean shrimp farm, police visited an area on Marage Road about a hundred yards from the Caribbean shrimp farm. The victim, Walter DAWSON, 57-year-old of 11 miles Phillip Goldson Highway, had a chop wound to left side of his head, to the back of the head, to the left shoulder and left side of the neck almost severing his neck. He was discovered lying motionless and apparently dead. Investigations revealed that sometime around 3:30am to 4:00am, neighbors heard their dogs barking, however, they could not say what happened as they never looked out and sometime after 7:00am the morning a citizen was heading to work and made the discovery. He then contacted the Ladyville police. The body was then taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where the body was pronounced dead at 10:11am. Police investigations continue.
 
MURDER

On the 19th of February 2017 at around 12:15am, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Eaton LAMB, 17-year-old of Belize City, suffering from stab wounds to the chest and back. Investigations revealed that at around 11:40pm, while police were in the area of Antelope Street Extension they saw LAMB bleeding profusely and being pursued by 24-year-old Tishawn HAMILTON who had a knife in his hand. Police quickly disarmed HAMILTON and detained him while LAMB was rushed to the K.H.M.H., but succumbed to his injuries at 12:20am while undergoing treatment. Police investigations continue.
 
 
KEPT FIREARM & AMMUNITION WITHOUT A GUN LICENSE

On the 19th of February 2017, sometime around 6:15pm, police was conducting mobile patrol on Euphrates Avenue, when they stopped and searched a group of male persons who were sitting on a fence at the basketball court. A search of the area and a male person led to the discovery of a black 9mm pistol along with a magazine that contained (7) live 9mm rounds of ammunition. As a result, police have arrested and charged Asher SAUNDERS, 18-year-old of Belize City, for the offence of (1) Kept Firearm without Gun License and (2) Kept Ammunition without a Gun License.
 
ROBBERY

On the 18th of February 2017 at 12:00pm, police responded to a robbery at Route 88 Sports Bar Gaming Shop located at #81 North Front Street, Belize City, where they met and spoke with the manager. Jian Bing CHEN, 35yrs, reported that, at around 11:55am, he was behind the counter when two dark complexion male persons entered the business establishment. One of them pointed a firearm at him and demanded money. Fearing for his life, he complied with their demand, opened the cash register and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash while the other male person stretched over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash, which amounted to $1,239.00 US. Both male persons then rode off on North Front Street, Belize City, and made good their escape on separate bicycles. As a result, police have since detained two men pending the outcome of the investigation.  
 
SAN IGNACIO TOWN

MURDER

On the 19th of February 2017 at about 11:58pm, acting on information received of shots fired behind PK Store, San Ignacio Town, police visited the park where they saw Alvaro ALDANA, 23-year-old of San Ignacio Town, on the ground motionless. Investigation revealed that ALDANA was through the park when a male person approached him. ALDANA was taken to San Ignacio Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He suffered from a stab wound to the back, two gunshot wounds to the left side of his body and one under the left eye. The public is asked if they have any information concerning this incident, to contact the nearest Police Station or San Ignacio Police at 804-2022 as investigations continue.
 
MURDER

On the 20th of February 2017 at about 6:00am, police visited 1st Street, San Ignacio Town, where they saw a male person of dark complexion lying on his back in the middle of the street with an apparent gunshot to the head. The body was taken to the San Ignacio Community hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigation continues. His name has not yet been ascertained nor is the motive. The public is also asked if they have any information concerning this other murder to contact the Police.

PLACENCIA VILLAGE

FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On the 18th of February 2017 at about 12:03am, based upon information received of a Road Traffic Accident (RTA), Placencia Police along with Placencia Medical Personnel visited an area between miles 11 and 12 on the Placencia Road, Stann Creek District. Upon arrival, police saw Nicolas Dorateo ICAL, 31-year-old of San Roman Village, lying unconscious on the side of the road with severe head and body injuries. About fifty yards away from ICAL was a parked grey four door 4 Runner. ICAL was then transported to the Southern Regional Hospital and then to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for further treatment where he succumbed to his injuries at about 2:00pm while undergoing treatment.  Initial investigation revealed that, on the 17th of February 2017 at about 10:30pm, Bernard VALENTINE, 54-year-old of Dangriga Town, was driving the 4 Runner when the blue motor cycle driven by ICAL collided into the left side of said 4 Runner.  VALENTINE escaped unhurt. Police investigation continues. The body of Nicolas ICAL now lies at the K.H.M.H. Morgue awaiting a postmortem   examination.
