BELIZE CITY

ROBBERY

On the 7th of February 2017 at about 9:00am, police responded to a robbery in progress at Uno Gas Station located at #891 Vernon Street, Belize City, and proceeded to the location where they spoke with the administrator. He reported that at about 8:58am, he arrived at the gas station to deposit three (3) Scotia Bank bags containing money. Two of the bags with monies were to be deposited at the gas station and one bag to Scotia Bank, Belize City. He stated that he left one bag at the gas station and took the bag which contained two (2) Scotia Bank bags with approximately $15,878.00. He reported that while exiting the office, he was ambushed by two male persons. One of them pointed a black 9mm at him and took away the Jansport bag containing the cash. The other assailant took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register and then both made good their escape. Police later impounded a gold colored four-door Honda Accord with no license plate and have detained one person and are seeking two others as investigations continue.
 
UPGRADED CHARGE

Reference the Attempted Murder of Keimar NICHOLAS which occurred on the 23rd of January 2017 and who passed away on the 3rd of February 2017; on the 7th of February 2017 at 10:00am, the attempted murder charge given to Enfield Ervin FITZGIBBON, 27-year-old of Mahogany Heights, Belize District, was upgraded to Murder. 
 
CAYO DISTRICT

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 7th of February 2017 about 12:45pm, San Ignacio Police conducted an anti-drug operation within Bullet Tree Village, Cayo, where they searched a bag in the possession of Roberto CORDOVA, 39-year-old of Bullet Tree. The search led to the discovery of 4.5lbs or 2,041.0 grams of Cannabis. He was arrested for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
 
FOUND PROPERTY

On the 7th of February 2017 about 2:00pm, San Ignacio Police pursued a blue and white Toyota Tercel unto Joseph Andrews Drive where they noticed a package been thrown out of the window. The package was retrieved where it was discovered to be 4,568 grams of cannabis. The vehicle made good its escape. The drug was deposited as Found Property.
