COROZAL DISTRICT

ROBBERY

Carlos CANELO, 45-year-old Bus Driver of Corozal Town, reported that, on the 8th of January 2017 at 8:20pm, he and his coworker, Shamir SANKER, arrived at 6th Street South, Corozal Town, and parked the Valencia Bus in front of the address. They were then approached by a male person who pointed an object at him and demanded the purse which contained about $860.00. The person then made good his escape. Police have since detained two men as investigation continues.

LADYVILLE VILLAGE

FATAL ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On the 8th of January 2017, at around 9:30pm, police responded to a “Hit and Run” accident between miles 8 and 9 on the Phillip Goldson Highway where they saw Jamalski YOUNG, 21-year-old Resident of Ladyville, engulfed in flames. Beside him was a motorcycle which was also on fire. Efforts were made to quell the flames; however, he eventually succumbed to his injuries. Investigations revealed that YOUNG was riding his motorcycle on the Phillip Goldson Highway where upon reaching in the vicinity Blue’s Nightclub in Ladyville a white vehicle allegedly reversed into him which caused him to fall off his motorcycle which then burst into flames, engulfing him in the process. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene in the vehicle. Police investigations continue.

BELIZE CITY

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On the 8th of January 2017 at 12:45pm, police responded to a shooting incident on Police Street Extension, Belize City, and visited Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw 24-year-old Kyron SANTIAGO, suffering from a gunshot wound to the right lower back area and the right hand. Investigation revealed that SANTIAGO was inside his white taxi car which was parked on Police Street Extension when he was approached by two male persons one of whom fired several shots at him causing the his injuries. SANTIAGO was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is admitted in a stable condition. Initial investigation led to the discovery of a .38 revolver F&L brand which is believed to have been used in the shooting. Police detained two male minors, aged 16 and 17 years. Police investigation continues.

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

MISSING PERSON          

Suselie Auraluz GUERRA, 28-year-old of Bullet Tree Falls Village, reported that, on the 7th of January 2017 at 12:47pm, she received a phone call from her common-law husband, Ricardo Manuel ALTAMIRANO, 44-year-old of Bullet Tree Falls Village, informing her that he was going to run an errand for a Pastor, who also resides in the same village. She stated that at 5:30pm, on the same date, she tried to contact Ricardo, however, all the calls went to voicemail. Ricardo is approximately 5 feet 5 inches in height and 165 pounds. He has clear complexion, short curly black hair, thin eyebrows, sharp nose, thin lips and is clean shaven. He was driving his blue Isuzu D-Max Pickup Truck and was last seen wearing his uniform shirt, which is a dark green shirt with the embroidery “Koop Sheet Metal” on the right breast area and khaki long pants with a black belt and a brown pair of shoe. Police are investigating.

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 7th of January 2017 at 8:20pm, San Ignacio Police conducted a search at a residence in San Ignacio Town where they found 345 grams of cannabis inside a black plastic bag. Police have since detained Amiel TOPSEY, 30-year-old of San Ignacio, pending charges of Drug Trafficking.
