FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
On the 28th of December 2016 at 6:00pm, police responded to a road traffic accident between miles 11 and 12 on the Phillip Goldson Highway, where they saw a red ford pickup truck on the side of the Highway, extensively damaged. About 5 feet away was Jose ALFARO, of Sandhill, who was lying on the ground with his left foot amputated. Also on the scene was a Blue Bird McFadzean bus which was too extensively damaged. The bus driver, Alex Lee McFADZEAN, 25-year-old of St Paul’s Village, reported that while he was travelling from Belize City to St Paul’s Village and upon reaching between miles 11 and 12 a red Ford pickup truck that was travelling in the opposite direction collided into the bus. Some passengers onboard the bus received minor injuries. The body of ALFARO was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Alex Lee McFADZEAN was detained at the Ladyville Police Station pending investigation.
