ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On the 17th of December 2016 at 9:00pm, police visited a Road Traffic Accident scene on the Yo Creek Road in front of Cuello's Distillery where they saw a green 1998 Ford F150 pickup, property of Ernesto GONGORA, of Orange Walk Town, extensively damaged. Also on the scene was a maroon and silver colored 1992 Blue Bird passenger bus, property of Amelio TILLETT Jr. of Orange Walk District. It was driven at the time by Airon DOMINGUEZ, 42-year-old of Orange Walk District, and was seen with extensive damages to the driver’s side, engine and transmission. Three Hispanic male persons in their 20's were observed to be apparently dead with multiple injuries. They were identified as 22-year-old Mainor HERNANDEZ, 26-year-old Jason GONGORA, and Jovani GONGORA, all of Yo Creek Village. George MEJIA, a passenger of the bus, was also injured. He was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital For treatment and then to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for further treatment. Police are investigating.
 
AGGRAVATED BURGLARY

On the 18th of December 2016 at about 9:54pm, responding to a 911 call regarding a shooting incident at a residence at #13 Belize/Corozal Road. Orange Walk Police visited the residence where 51-year-old Divya PADWANI reported that, at about 9:50pm, two masked male persons, one armed with a hand gun, entered her house and hit her husband Navin PADWANI, 55-year-old Businessman, on the face and then shot her television. They then made good their escape. Police are investigating.

DRUG TRAFFICKING

Orange Walk Police reported that, on the16th of December 2016 at around 4:50am, while conducting a house search at the residence of Jovanni Mauricio POLANCO, 28-year-old of Orange Walk Town, they found 10,705 grams of Cannabis. Present during the search was POLANCO and Katley Karina Moralez MOLINA, 26-year-old Nicaraguan of the same address. Police arrested both persons for Drug Trafficking.
 
LADYVILLE VILLAGE

BURGLARY/THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

On the 18th of December 2016, Mosef NORRIS, 42-year-old Truck Driver of Sand Hill Village, reported that his house was burglarized. He further reported that between the hours of 3:00am and 3:30am, he was awakened by his son informing him that someone was inside the house. He then made checks and saw a male person jumped through his window with a laptop computer in his hand. A further search around the house revealed that his 2014 black Meilun motorcycle with license plate MC- 3597 that was on his veranda was missing along with (1) blue HP brand laptop. Police are looking for one man pending investigations.

CITY OF BELMOPAN

MURDER

On the 16th of December 2016 at 5:35pm, information was received of a stabbing incident that occurred at #8 Guyana Street, San Martin area, and police visited the Western Regional Hospital where they saw Freddy CERRITOS, 27-year-old Mason of San Martin area, with several stab wounds to the body. He was pronounced dead at approximately 5:40pm on the same day. Initial investigation revealed that he and three other male persons were socializing at the residence when Howard MARTINEZ, 27-year-old Honduran National of Belmopan, reportedly got into an argument which resulted in MARTINEZ pulling out a knife and stabbed CERRITOS. Police are looking for Howard MARTINEZ as investigations continue.

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

MURDER

On the 18th of December 2016 at about 7:30pm, based on information received of a shooting incident on Orange Street, Santa Elena Town, San Ignacio Police visited Loma Luz Hospital where they saw the body of Paulina Urbelina SUAREZ, 61-year-old Widower of Santa Elena Town, Cayo District. The body had several gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at 7:40pm on the 18th of December 2016. Police have since detained two men and are seeking another as investigation continues.
 
ROBBERY

On the 16th of December 2016, Jun Wen LI, 44-year-old Chinese Businessman of corner Joseph Andrews and 3rd Street, San Ignacio Town, Cayo District, reported that, at about 3:13pm, he was sitting behind the counter in his City Corner Supermarket when he saw a male person enter his store and another followed right behind him holding a handgun and pointing it at him and his workers. A third male person entered the store and went behind the counter and took all the money out of the cash register, a black smart Samsung phone and his 10inch IPod Air. The three male persons then left the store, ran down 3rd Street and got into a white Mitsubishi car with no license plate. Police investigation continues.
 
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Fransico QUIROZ, 51-year-old Resident of San Ignacio Town, reported that, on the 15th of December 2016 at 5:30pm, he parked a green 2-door 2003 Toyota Hilux pickup truck with license plates BZB-1958, on the street exactly in front of his house. On the 16th of December 2016 at 1:45am, he discovered the vehicle was missing. The pickup is the property of the Government of Belize. Police are investigating.
