ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

MURDER

On the 29th October of 2016 at 9:50pm, Police visited the Northern Regional Hospital Emergency Ward where Manuel Alejandro TOLOSA, 25 year old Belizean Laborer of Orange Walk Town, was seen with a stab wound to his chest area and a minor wound to the back of his neck. Initial investigations revealed that sometime around 9:30pm on the said date, the victim was walking at the corner of Park Lane and Phillip Goldson Highway, Orange Walk Town, when he was attacked by a group male individuals, which resulted in him being stabbed to the chest. At 10:40pm on the 29th of October 2016, Manuel Alejandro TOLOSA succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His body now lies at the Northern Regional Hospital Morgue awaiting a Post Mortem Examination. Police are investigating.

BELIZE DISTRICT

MURDER

On the 29th of October 2016 at 5:30pm, Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw the lifeless body of George YOUNG, 37 year old Belizean Laborer of Belize City, with multiple gunshot wounds to the back, left side of the chest, left upper leg, and right upper leg. Another male person, namely Abraham CRAIG, 19 year old Belizean Laborer of Belize City, was also seen suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the upper left chest, right abdomen and left upper back. Initial investigations revealed that on the said date at 5:30pm, George YOUNG was at Bucks Barber Shop getting a shave when a dark skin male person entered the Barber Shop and pointed a firearm in YOUNG’s direction and fired several shots fatally injuring him. Whilst exiting the Barber Shop, the said male person fired several more shots at Abraham CRAIG causing the above mentioned injuries. The assailant then made good his escape by running up Mohamed Ali Street, Belize City. George YOUNG succumbed to his injuries whilst undergoing medical attention and was pronounced dead at 5:45pm. The body of George YOUNG now awaits a Postmortem Examination. Abraham CRAIG remained listed in a critical condition. Police are investigating.

KEPT FIREARM WITH OUT LICENSE

On the 29th of October 2016 about 11:30pm, whilst on mobile patrol on North Front Street, Police observed two (2) suspicious male persons who exited a restaurant. Upon observing the police, they immediately returned back into the establishment, as a result, the police followed them into the establishment and observed one of the male person bending down in a corner the police proceeded to the area and found a Pen Gun loaded with (1) gold in color bullet. Further investigations revealed his name to be Leroy BARDALES. He has since been arrested and charged with Kept Firearm without Gun License and Kept Ammunition without License.

SAN PEDRO TOWN

MURDER

On the 28th of October 2016 at about 11:09pm, Police responded to a shooting incident in San Mateo Area. Upon arrival, Police observed the lifeless body of a male Hispanic person lying face up in a pool of blood in the middle of the street with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his body. There was (1) gunshot wound to the left side of his pubic area, (1) to the left side of his rib cage, (1) to the lower part of his abdomen, (1) to the left side of his waist (1) to the right side of his chest and (1) to his left shoulder. The deceased was later identified as Nieves Antonio PAGOADA, 44 year old Honduran Laborer of San Mateo Area. Initial investigations revealed that, on the said date at about 11:00pm, the deceased was on his way home and when he was accosted by unknown person(s) who inflicted the said injuries. The body of Nieves Antonio PAGOADA was transported to the San Pedro Poly Clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police are seeking one person for questioning. Police investigation continues.

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

BRIBERY

On the 28th of October 2016 at 4:20pm, Cpl. 1050 Maximiliano LANZA, along with other police officers, were conducting a vehicular checkpoint on the George Price Highway, and as a result, two Salvadoran male persons were detained for entering the country illegal. Both male persons were travelling in a white taxi from San Ignacio Town to Benque Viejo Town along with a female. The female approached Cpl LANZA and stated, "These persons are my family. I will give you fifty dollars if you let them go". Cpl LANZA asked her to repeat what she had said and she stated, "I will give you fifty dollars if you let them go" and handed over (1) single fifty dollar bill, Belize Currency. Cpl LANZA immediately informed her of the offence she committed and placed her under arrest for "Bribery". The female was identified as Sara Areli FLORES, 33 year old Belizean Domestic of San Ignacio Town. At the San Ignacio Police Station, CPL LANZA sealed the fifty dollar bill in an empty white envelope and labelled it as exhibit. Police arrested and charged Sara Areli FLORES for the crime of "Bribery".
