BELIZE CITY

MURDER

On the 5th of September 2016 at 6:22pm, police visited Complex Drive, Belize City, where they saw Nicasio John ZUNIGA lying motionless on the street. He had a gunshot injury to the upper right cheek. Investigations revealed that ZUNIGA, 22-year-old of Belize City, was walking alone after purchasing from a nearby store when he was approached by a lone perpetrator on a bicycle who fired a single shot causing the fatal injury. Police investigation continues.
 
ATTEMPT MURDER

On the 5th of September 2016 at about 7:30pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Adrian DYER, 21-year-old of Belize City, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the thighs. Investigations revealed that, on the said date about 7:25pm, DYER was socializing along with a group of male persons in front of a residence on Racecourse Street when two male persons came riding on a motorcycle. One of the male persons on the motorcycle pulled out a firearm and fired several shots in their direction causing injuries to DYER. DYER was listed in a critical condition. Police are investigating.
 
ATTEMPT MURDER

On the 5th of September 2016 at about 10:15pm, police responded to shots being fired at the corner of New Road and Victoria Street, Belize City, and visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where John OROZCO, 19-year-old of Belize City, was seen suffering from a gunshot wound to the right forearm. OROZCO reported that, on the same date at about 10:15pm, he was pushing his bicycle on New Road contrary to the flow of traffic and upon reaching in front of #84 New Road Supermarket, he suddenly heard loud bangs coming from the direction of Victoria Street. He then suddenly felt a burning to his left forearm and realized that he had been shot. OROZCO was admitted to ward in a stable condition. Police investigation continues.

LADYVILLE VILLAGE

FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On the 5th of September 2016 at about 5:50am, Margendon CONORQUIE, 39-year-old of Carmelita Village, Orange Walk District, reported that, on the same date at about 4:56am, he was driving a white 1990 GMC Chevy Suburban on the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road heading towards Hattieville and upon reaching about two miles away from the Phillip Goldson Highway Junction where there was a curve, he knocked down a dark complexion male person who was sitting in the middle of the road. As a result, the victim sustained serious head and body injuries and apparently died on the spot. The unidentified victim was transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Morgue where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police are investigating.

CITY OF BELMOPAN

BURGLARY

Melissa FERGUSON, 48-year-old Canadian Businesswoman of Mountain View area, Belmopan, reported that between 11:00pm on the 15th of July 2016 and 2:00pm on the 17th of August 2016, her residence was burglarized. Stolen from inside her home were an assortment of liquor, clothing, electronic and household and miscellaneous items.

Note: The Public is advised that it is a crime to be in possession of stolen items. Police investigations continue.
 
FOUND PROPERTY

On the 5th of September 2016 at around 11:30am, members of the Special Branch Tactical Response Squad conducted a search in an abandoned lot in Roaring Creek Village which resulted in the discovery of a black plastic back containing four compressed parcels of Cannabis amounting to 947.0 grams. No one was found in the area. The drugs were deposited as Found Property.
