DRUG TRAFFICKING
At 12:30am on the 7th of August 2016, police were conducting vehicular check point in Sand Hill Village, when they stopped a maroon 1995 Chevy Prism car - with taxi license plates - that was travelling from the direction of Orange Walk Town to Belize City. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 260.6 grams of Cannabis. Julian CHUC, 41-year-old Taxi Driver of Orange Walk Town, was driving the vehicle at the time. Accompanying him at the time was 24-year-old, Kadeem COURTENAY, of Belize City. Both men have since been arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking.

MURDER
At 5:45am on the 6th of August 2016, police visited Hyde’s Supermarket located at corner West Canal and Hicatee Street, Belize City, where they saw Carl TRAPP, 51-year-old of Belize City, lying with apparent stab wounds to the chest, right lower back, left shoulder, right cheek, below the right eye and a cut wound to the left side of the chest. Initial investigations revealed that the body was found at 5:30am, on the 6th of August 2016, inside the market, apparently dead. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where it was pronounced dead on arrival. The body now awaits a post mortem examination. Police investigations continue.
