HATTIEVILLE VILLAGE

MURDER

On the 30th July 2016 at about 4:50pm, police responded to reports of a fight at a construction site in Tropical Park, Hattieville village, Belize District. There police saw Yovany Armando ROSALES, 44-year-old Honduran of mile 14½ on the George Price Highway, lying motionless with what appeared to be chop wounds to the back of his head and shoulders. Initial investigation revealed that the male person works at the construction site and was there drinking with fellow coworkers when he got into an argument with one of them, who inflicted the chop wounds. The body of Yovany ROSALES was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Morgue. Police have since detained a Guatemalan National of Old Hattieville village, pending charges, and are looking for another of Melchor De Mencos, Guatemala.

DRUG TRAFFICKING                                         

On the 31st July 2016 at about 1:40am, police were on mobile patrol on Humming Bird Avenue when their attention was drawn to a light blue taxi which was swerving across the road and travelling the opposite direction. The car was intercepted and checks were made under the driver’s seat which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag which contained 111 grams of cannabis. Ervin Miguel FUNEZ, 32-year-old Taxi Driver of San Martin area, Belmopan, was arrested and charged for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
 
ROBBERY

George VARELA, 18-year-old of Belmopan, reported that, on the 28th of July 2016 at about 7:15pm, while walking by the Independence Park located in Belmopan City, a dark complexion male person rode up beside him and asked him for calling credits or two dollars which George was unable to facilitate him with. The assailant then pulled out a black handgun, held it to his head and ordered him to remove his gold chain and his white Bluetooth speaker. The assailant then made good his escape with both items. Police are investigating.

 
Concepcion ALVALOS, 41-year-old of Belmopan, reported that, on the 28th of July 2016 at about 7:30pm, while walking behind Belmopan Library and Brodie area, a dark complexion chubby built male person rode up to her on a black beach cruiser, bumped her and pointed a black handgun at her demanding money. Fearing for her life, Concepcion gave the culprit $30.00. Police are investigating.
 
A 17-year-old male of Belmopan reported that, on the 29th of July 2016 about 7:15pm, while socializing with a friend in front of the National Assembly Building, Belmopan, they were approached by three male persons on bicycles. One of the male persons reportedly took out an object from his waist and pointed it into the direction of his friend while the other came from behind him, grabbed him to the throat, took away his white Iphone 4s and then threw him to the floor. The three assailants then made good their escape. Police are investigating.

STABBING INCIDENT

On the 30th of July 2016 at about 1:20am, police visited the Western Regional Hospital where they saw Denzel WAGNER, 22-year-old of Roaring Creek Village, with a single stab wound to the upper left shoulder and a cut wound to the right thumb. Initial investigation revealed that WAGNER was socializing at a party in Camalote Village with some friends when he was approach by Nathan GUZMAN aka Dude, who inflicted the injuries for no apparent reason. Police are looking for Nathan GUZMAN.

FOUND PROPERTY

On the 28th of July 2016 at about 3:15pm, police conducted a search in an abandoned lot on Teck Street, San Ignacio Town, which led to the discovery of a blue knapsack containing 889 grams of Cannabis. It was subsequently deposited as “Found Property”.
