ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

FOUND PROPERTY

At 6:10pm on the 27th of July 2016, police conducted a search on an empty lot at the corner of Louisiana Road and Mangal Street, Orange Walk District, which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 400 kg of Cannabis. No one was found in the area and the drugs were deposited as Found Property.
 
SAN PEDRO TOWN

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 26th of July 2016 at 12:00pm, police visited the residence of 37-year-old Kirk Jason CRUZ, situated at San Pedrito area, which led to the discovery of 1,880 grams or 4.144 lbs of Cannabis. Kirk CRUZ, Belizean Painter of San Pedro Town, was arrested and charged for the offence of Drug Trafficking.

HATTIEVILLE VILLAGE

SHOOTING INCIDENT

At 9:50pm on the 27th of July 2016, police visited the residence of Keron Devon MOSS, 27-year-old of Hattieville, where they saw MOSS suffering from a gunshot wound to the left leg. MOSS reported that, at 9:40pm on the same date, he was home when he heard a knock on his door and upon opening it, he saw two male persons. One of the male persons was armed with a hand gun and fired two shots at him causing his injury. Both men then ran away. MOSS was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was admitted in a stable condition. Police have since detained two persons, pending investigations.
 

STANN CREEK DISTRICT

FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

At 10:30pm on the 26th of July 2016, police responded to a fatal traffic accident at mile 9 on the Stann Creek Valley Road which claimed the lives of 18-year-old Edwardo CHACON and 15-year-old Henry MONRROY, both of 10 miles Stann Creek Valley Road. Initial investigations revealed that both persons were travelling on a Skygo motorcycle from Hope Creek to Pomona when they collided into a truck that was parked on the side of the road. Both CHACON and MONRROY received serious head and body injuries and were transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival. Police investigations continue.   
 
CITY OF BELMOPAN

ARREST

In reference to the murder of Bella Regina WILLIAMS; on the 25th of July 2016, Belmopan Police arrested and charged Josue ORTIZ, 19-year-old Salvadoran of Las Flores area, Belmopan, for the crime of Murder.
