ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

FOUND PROPERTY

On the 20th of July 2016 at 1:03pm, acting on information received, Police conducted an Operation on Trinidad Street, Orange Walk Town, where they found (1) .38 Special Revolver. No one was found in the area. The firearm was taken to the Orange Walk Police Station where it was labeled and deposited as Found Property.
 
ROARING CREEK VILLAGE

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 20th of July 2016 at about 8:30pm, members of M.I.T. were conducting Vehicular Check Point at mile 54 on the George Price highway when they came intercepted a grey Dodge Caravan with (2) male occupants. They were identified as Mathew Jason RUIZ, 30-year-old Belizean Mechanic of Belize City, and Juan Bellozo LAGOS, 27-year-old Construction Worker from Melchor de Mencos Guatemala. A search of the vehicle in their presence resulted in the discovery of 2 sacks in the back seat. One sack contained 3lbs and the other amounted to 52lbs of Cannabis, (a total of 55lbs or equivalent to 24947.6 grams). Both persons were arrested and charged for Drug Trafficking.
 
FIREARM RECOVERED

Reference the Robbery Report at Income Tax Department on the 15th of July 2016, a joint team of police officers from M.I.T. and Belmopan Police visited an area behind Another World, Roaring Creek Village, which resulted in the recovery of a (1) 9mm pistol with (13) live rounds and (1) .38 revolver with (4) live rounds - Property of the Police Department which was stolen from the police at the time of the robbery. Belmopan Police have since detained (2) individuals pending investigations.
 
SAN IGNACIO TOWN

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED DRUGS

On the 20th of July 2016 about 10:30am, members of Special Branch Tactical Response Squad conducted a search at the residence of Jose GUERRA Jr., 25-year-old Carpenter of San Ignacio Town. Rosarria WEWE, 25yrs, was at the residence, along with Guerra, at the time of the search. The search resulted in the discovery of 1027.0 grams of Cannabis. They were both arrested and charged for the offence of Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply to Another.

STANN CREEK DISTRICT

THEFT

On the 19th of July 2016, Teodocio VEGA, 43-year-old Guatemalan of Hope Creek Village, reported that, at about 7:00pm on the 18th of July 2016, he parked his red Honlei 200 GY5 motor cycle with license plate number DGA-M0659 properly locked under a shed in his yard. Upon making checks on his motorcycle, around 4:30am on the 19th of July 2016, his motorcycle was missing.
 
SHOOTING INCIDENT

A 34-year-old man of Hope Creek Village reported that on the 14th of July 2016 around 8:30pm, he was driving alone in his car on the Stann Creek Valley Road heading from the direction of Dangriga Town to Hope Creek Village when upon reaching the first bump around mile 7 ½, a male person wearing dark clothing came out of the bushes and fired two shots at him. One of the shots fired caught him on the left upper shoulder. He managed to escape and made his way to the Southern Regional Hospital. He was later transferred to Western Regional hospital for further treatment; he remains in a stable condition.
 
BURGLARY

Ewart MURILLO, 56-year-old Belizean Farmer of Mullins River Village, reported that, between the 30th of June 2016 and the 15th of July 2016, his two storey wooden structure building was broken into. Stolen from inside were (1) 20 gauge shotgun and other items. Police are seeking several persons as investigations continue.
 
PLACENCIA VILLAGE

FOUND PROPERTY

On the 20th of July 2016, Police conducted an Anti-Drug Operation within Placencia and Seine Bight Village where a search conducted in an abandoned lot on the south side of Seine Bight which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 225 grams of Cannabis. Further searches were conducted in Placencia which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag in an abandoned lot behind a bar containing 119.2 grams of Cannabis.
