ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

MISSING PERSON

Rubicile CASTILLO, of San Jose Palmar Village, reported that on the 18th of June 2016 at 9:30am, her sister, Alma Lily CASTILLO, 33-year-old also of San Jose Palmar Village, left her house saying that she was going to visit her boyfriend on Guadalupe Street, Orange Walk Town, and has not return home since. Alma Lily CASTILLO is 5 feet tall, medium built, weighs about 140 pounds, has light brown skin, sharp nose, thin eyebrows. She speaks both the Spanish and English Language. Alma was last seen wearing blue jeans short pants, black blouse, black sandals and was carrying a black purse. Police are investigating.
 
 
POSTMORTEM EXAMINATION

Reference the Sudden Death  Report dated 20th of June 2016; on  the 17th of June 2016, a postmortem examination was conducted on the body of Luis Antonio MAGANA, 29-year-old Belizean Driver of Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk District, that certified the cause of death to be “Combined Mechanical Asphyxia and Venous Longestion due to Hanging.”
 
FOUND PROPERTY

On the 19th of June 2016 at about 12:50pm, police visited an area located about 100 feet away from the San Estevan RC School in San Estevan Village, which led them to the discovery of 25 Marijuana trees ranging from about 6 inches in height to about 1 foot in height. No one was seen in the area. All Marijuana trees were taken to the Orange Walk Police station and labeled as Found Property.

BELIZE DISTRICT

ROBBERY

On the 20th of June 2016, Adelita OCOMPO, 27-year-old Cashier at La Popular Bakery - located at the Corner of Logwood and Sarstoon Street - Belize City, reported that at about 9:00am, two armed male persons entered La Popular Bakery and robbed her of $150.00 in cash. They also stole one white Samsung Galaxy S6 from the 17-year-old Assistant Cashier. The male persons then exited the building and made good their escape. No one was injured. Police have since detained three 17-year-old minors pending investigation.         
                                       
DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 20th of June 2016 at about 8:15am, while police were on mobile patrol and reaching at the corner of Vernon and Mayflowers Streets, their attention was drawn to a shirtless male person in the possession of a blue gift bag behaving in a very suspicious manner. Upon being approached by the police, the male person dropped the bag and fled. However, he was pursued, apprehended and escorted back to the area where he dropped the bag which was found to contain 489 grams of Cannabis. The 15-year-old male has since been detained pending charges.

TOLEDO DISTRICT

DROWNING

On the 20th of June 2016 at 2:30am, information was received of a male person who drowned at Blue Creek Village, Toledo District. Punta Gorda Police visited the scene where they saw Thomas SALAM, 21-year-old of Blue Creek Village, lying on the ground apparently dead. Investigation revealed that on the 19th of June 2016 at 4:00pm, Thomas and four other male persons left home to go fishing. However, while diving in the river, he reportedly got stuck below some fallen submerged trees. With the help of the village Alcalde, his body was taken out of the water and transported to the Punta Gorda Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 6:00am. Police are investigating.
