ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

FOUND PROPERTY

At 12:30pm on the 11th of June 2016, while Police and Customs personnel were conducting operation in the Santa Cruz area, Orange walk Town, they conducted a search on a bus that was coming out of Santa Cruz. The search led to the discovery of a blue parcel containing 2.33 pounds of cannabis. No one claimed the item and it was deposited as Found Property. 

BELIZE DISTRICT

ARSON

At 3:00pm on the 13th of June 2016, police visited Amara Avenue in Belize City where they observed a gold colored Jeep Wrangler engulfed in flames. Evan TENCH, of Techtronic’s Communication - located at #61 Amara Avenue, reported that someone had set his 2005 Jeep Wrangler on fire. The fire was extinguished by personnel from the Fire Department. The vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire. Police investigations continue. 
 
BENQUE VIEJO TOWN

KEPT PROHIBITED FIREARM

At 8:00am on the 13th of June 2016, police conducted a search on a male person who gave his name as 23-year-old Gian Martinez of Ladyville Village, Belize District.  The search led to the discovery of (1) pen gun and 7.9 grams of Cannabis. Further investigations revealed that his real name is Deon Rowland JEX. He has since been arrested and charged with “Possession of Prohibited Firearm, Possession of Controlled Drugs and Mischievous Act”.
