COROZAL DISTRICT

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On 15th November 2014 at about 6:05pm, Corozal Police visited the residence of Janethe Elaine McKEAN, 60 year old retired US National, located at Consejo Beach Trail, Consejo Shores, Corozal District. Upon searching the residence, Ms. McKEAN handed over a plastic bag containing green leafy substance suspected to be Cannabis and two pipes. She was escorted to the Corozal Police Station along with the findings. She was subsequently charged for the Possession of pipes and Drug Trafficking to wit: 161.3 grams of cannabis.

SEXUAL ASSAULT ARREST

Reference the report made on 7th November 2014 of Sexual Assault; Police have since arrested and charged Keithlyn JONES, 42 year old of Calcutta Village, for the crime of Sexual Assault and Harm.

MISSING PERSON

Rosa ESCALANTE, 42 year old of Finca Solana Area, visited the police station and reported that, on 14th November 2014 at 1:00pm, her son Zakir ESCALANTE, 20 year old Student at the Corozal Community College, informed his sister that he was going to Santa Clara Village, Corozal District. Since then, Zakir has not returned home. According to the family, he was last seen by the Park at the Santa Elena, Mexican Border. Zakir is of Mestizo descent, slim built, brown complexion, about 5’5’’in height; has black hair, brown eyes, sharp nose, and moles on his back. He has skull tattoos on the left calf, a star tattoo with tribal design on the left side of the chest. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt, ¾ white pants, black/grey/white tennis. Police are investigating.

ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On 15th November 2014 at about 6:30pm, Police visited the scene of an accident in an area at four miles, along the Guinea Grass Road. Initial investigations revealed that Erick POOK, 26 year old of Guinea Grass, was riding his black and blue Meilun motor cycle along with Wilbert GARCIA, 19 year old Belizean Supervisor of Guinea Grass Village. They reportedly ran into the back of a moving trailer that was attached to a tractor heading to Guinea Grass Village. The tractor with the trailer did not stop. The injured persons were taken to Northern Regional Hospital with severe bodily injuries. Erick POOK later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 7:05pm at the Northern Regional Hospital. Police are investigating.

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On 15th November 2014 at about 7:30pm, Police in San Jose Village conducted a search in a white Isuzu truck and found a white plastic container which contained (21) pieces of aluminum foil. Each piece of foil was found to contain crack cocaine amounting to a total of 1.9 grams. Eulogio Misael CRUZ, 50 year old of San Jose Village, was consequently detained for Drug Trafficking.

SAN PEDRO TOWN

WOUNDING

On 16th November 2014 at around 11:00am, Kendis GONGORA, 23 year old of San Pedro Town, visited the San Pedro Police Station and reported that he was with some friends at a night club located on Barrier Drive, San Pedro Town, when sometime around mid-night on 15th November 2014, he got into an altercation with Rene CUMUL and Alex ESPAT. During the altercation, GONGORA was reportedly stabbed to the left side of his stomach. He was escorted to a clinic where his injury was classified as wounding. He was later transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for further treatment. Both Rene CUMUL and Alex ESPAT were detained pending charges.
 
SHOOTING INCIDENT

On 16th November 2014 at about 7:43pm, San Pedro Police visited the San Pedro Polyclinic where Marcos RAMIREZ, 20 year old Belizean Carpenter of San Pedro Town, was seen suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his left and right thigh. Initial investigation revealed that, on the same date at about 7:00pm, he was at a friend’s apartment located in the San Pablo area, San Pedro Town, when he heard four gunshots coming from the street side in front of the apartment after which he realized that he was injured. He was taken to the Polyclinic for medical treatment and later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a stable condition. Police investigations continue.
 
BELIZE DISTRICT

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

On 16th November 2014, 28-year-old Nasima REYES, visited the Police Station and reported that her vehicle has been stolen. The vehicle was reportedly parked in front of Musa's Residence on E Street. The vehicle is a 1993 blue Geo Prism 4-door with license plates D-7550 Vin # 1Y1SK5360PZ066792. Police are investigating.

HOMICIDE

On the 14th of November 2014 at about 7:20am, based on information received from Orange Walk Police of the remains of bones to be from a human being; Police visited an area about 2 miles from Maskall Village going to Santa Martha Village, on the Old Northern Highway, where checks were made in some bushes about 200yards from the said highway. The bones, believed to be the remains of a human body, were seen along with some clothing which were apparently burnt. A machete, cable wire and rope were also found. Police are investigating. 

ARREST FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER

Reference the report made on 15th November 2014, police arrested and charged Carl LINO for the crime of: Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm and use of Deadly Means of Harm, Kept Firearm without having been granted a Gun License, and Kept Ammunition without having been granted a Gun License.”

CAYO DISTRICT

CARNAL KNOWLEDGE

A 15-year-old female minor of Esperanza visited the Police Station accompanied by a Social Worker and reported that on the 16th of November 2014 at 2:00am, while at the residence of a Police Officer, he had sexual intercourse with her in Seine Bight Village, Stann Creek District. A medical examination was conducted which certified that the child is carnally known. Police have detained 28-year-old Belizean Police Constable of Seine Bight Village pending charges.

FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On the 14th of November 2014 at about 9:00pm, police responded to a Road Traffic Accident between miles 50 and 51 on the George Price Highway where they saw a White 1991 Toyota Previa with damages to the entire front portion and an elderly female with injuries to her head and face, lying to the front of the van. Initial investigation revealed that the driver of the van, Jorge Luis ROMERO, 41 year old Naturalized Belizean Taxi Driver of Belmopan City, was travelling from San Ignacio to Belmopan when upon reaching in front of the Westar Gas Station an elderly woman, identified as Maria WRIGHT, 52 year old of Roaring Creek Village, reportedly ran across the highway and the van hit her causing her injuries. She was transported to the Western Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 10:32pm. Police are investigating.

DROWNING

On the 14th of November 2014 at about 10:35am, Elizabeth SHISH, 49 year old of Benque Viejo Town, visited the station and reported that they had found her 76-year-old father, Daniel David BAÑOS, dead. He was found lying face down in a pool of water. She reported that he was suffering from Stroke repeatedly. No sign of physical injury was observed on the body. The body was then transported to the San Ignacio Hospital where it was pronounced dead at 11:10am. A post-mortem examination was conducted on the body of Daniel BAÑOS which certified cause of death due to Drowning.  

RAPE

On the 16th of November 2014, a 15 year old female minor of Santa Cruz area, accompanied by her mother, visited the San Ignacio Police Station and reported that she and her sister were walking on George Price Avenue in Santa Elena Town at about 2.00am, when a red 4 door car pulled up beside them and one of the occupants forced her into the vehicle. She was then taken to the Branch Mouth area where the two male persons reportedly had sexual intercourse with her against her will. Police has since detained two male persons of Santa Elena Town, pending investigation.

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 16th November 2014 at about 9:30pm, while police were conducting mobile patrol on Said Musa Street in Benque Viejo Town, their attention was drawn to two male persons riding a motorcycle without license plate on the George Price Boulevard. As a result, police pursued the motorcycle and when it reached between mile 72 and 73, the passenger threw a knapsack on the side of the highway and at about (150) yards ahead, another knapsack was thrown on the side of the highway. As a result, the motorcycle was stopped and the two riders were identified to be David SANDOVAL, 31 year old Guatemalan Farmer of Camalote Village; and Jonathan Trigeros GALAN, 25 year old Salvadoran laborer of Roaring Creek Village. When the knapsacks were recovered, one was found to contain suspected cannabis which amounted to 6.5 pounds or 2,948 grams and the other, 5 pounds/2,268 grams. Both men were arrested and charged for the offence of Drug Trafficking.

DANGRIGA TOWN

ROBBERY

A 23-year-old woman of Dangriga Town reported that on 14th November 2014 at about 2:00pm, she was walking on Oak Street in the town when she was robbed of her black and purple Everest purse, at gun point by a dark complexion male person on a bicycle. However, some male persons who were in the area set chase after the robber and her purse was retrieved. Police are looking for Sherwin BALTAZAR pending investigation.

PLACENCIA VILLAGE

OBTAINING PROPERTY BY DECEPTION

Richard CAPLES, 56 year old American National, visited the Placencia Police Station on the 13th of November 2014 and reported that on the 15th of November 2014 at about 3:30pm, he was heading to Placencia Village when upon reaching in front of the Placencia Auto Rental, his white 2008 GMC pickup truck broke down. As a result, he went into the auto rental office to rent a car. Whilst at the office, an unknown male person approached him and offered to fix his vehicle. Three days later he handed over an Atlantic Bank cheque to the male person in the sum of $3,000.00; in order for him to buy parts. The male person told him that the vehicle would be ready in three weeks. The complainant stated that he made checks on his vehicle a month later and nothing was done to his truck. Police are looking for a man of Punta Gorda Town, pending investigations.

DRUG TRAFFICKING ARREST

Reference the release sent on 14th November 2014, Police formally arrested and charged 40-year-old Pedro CHE, Belizean Farmer of Toledo District, for Drug Trafficking to wit: 223 grams of cannabis.
