ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

BURGLARY

Marian FLOWERS, 28 year old Belizean Domestic of Orange Walk Town, reported that at 3:00am on 12th November 2014, she properly secured her house and went to sleep in her room when upon waking up at 7:00am, on said date, she discovered that various electronic items was missing. Police are looking for three persons in connection with this matter. Police investigations continue.

BELIZE CITY

SHOOTING INCIDENT

About 2:15pm on 12th of November 2014, acting on information received of shots fired on North Front Street, Investigators responded where it was learnt that Andrew TATE, 28 year old Laborer of Belize City, suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head and was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Carl LINO was also seen at the KHMH suffering from a gunshot wound to the left upper leg. Initial Police investigations revealed that Andrew TATE was riding a bicycle on North Front Street towards the direction of Swing Bridge when he was pursued by a lone gun man who fired three shots, hitting him to the back of the head. The gun man then ran in the direction of Pinks Alley where he was pursued by police foot patrol in the area. He was shot to the leg and taken to the KHMH by the police. The shooter was identified to be Carl LINO, 22 year old of Belize City, who remains under guard at the KHMH. A chrome .38 special revolver that fell from the suspect’s hand was retrieved by the police. TATE is listed in a stable condition also at KHMH. Police investigation continues.

ATTEMPTED MURDER

On 12th November 2014 at about 6:50pm, Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Accident and Emergency Ward where they observed Stanley Alexander FLOWERS Jr., 18 year old Belize Defense Force Volunteer of Belize City, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the lower right hand. Initial investigations revealed that at about 6:45pm, Stanley Alexander FLOWERS Jr. was riding his bicycle on Gibnut Street and upon approaching the corner of Fullers Lane and Gibnut Street; he was approached by Dashay WILLIAMS, also known as “Shady”, who pointed a firearm at him and fired two shots in his direction, causing the injury. Police have since arrested and charged Dashay Nelson WILLIAMS, 18 year old Belizean Construction Worker of Belize City, with (1) count of Attempted Murder, (1) count of Dangerous Harm and (1) count of Use of Deadly Means of Harm.

MURDER

At 8:00am on 10th November 2014, Police visited an un-named street in Roaring Creek Village, Cayo District, where they observed spots of a red substance suspected to be blood, on a pavement inside a yard. Initial investigations revealed that Kerwin MENDOZA was involved in an altercation with other male persons in the said yard on 9th November 2014 and subsequently disappeared. At 11:30am on 12th November 2014, Police retrieved the lifeless body of Kerwin MENDOZA from the Belize River and have since arrested and charged Michael Angelo BROASTER, 35 year old Belizean Laborer; and Collin RICHARDS, 19 year old Belizean Laborer, both of Roaring Creek Village, with Murder.

POST-MORTEM EXAMINATION

In reference to the Suicide Report on 8th November 2014, a post-mortem examination was conducted on the body of Ervilio Juan SHAL; where at the conclusion, the doctor certified the cause of death as Asphyxia by Hanging Suicide.
