COROZAL DISTRICT

SUDDEN DEATH

On 10th November 2014 about 7:00am, Corozal Police visited the second floor of Gabriel Hoare Market, Corozal Town, and in an open area they discovered the motionless body of Errol REYES, 52 year old Belizean, was seen lying face up apparently dead. The body was then transported to the Corozal Community Hospital where it was pronounced dead at 7:30am. The body was viewed and no sign of injury or violence was observed. Police investigations continue.

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

HOUSE FIRE

Acting upon information received of a house fire, Police visited Hillview area, where police met Cesar MARTINEZ, 57 year old Belizean Construction Worker of Hillview area, who reported that at about 1:45am, he was awakened by his daughter Patricia MARTINEZ, 26 year old Domestic, who told him that her brother, Walter MARTINEZ’S house was on fire. Cesar made checks and saw that the 15x15 wooden structure building with zinc roofing was completely engulfed in flames. Inside the building were a mattress, wooden table and some clothes, which were all destroyed by fire.

BELIZE CITY

On 10th November 2014 about 9:48pm, acting upon information received, Police visited # 6 Pine Street, where the lifeless and partially decomposed body of a male person identified as William GARBUTT, 56 year old Belizean Unemployed of same address, was discovered. The hands were observed to be tied behind the back and his face was tied with a cloth and an apparent wound was seen on the forehead. Initial police investigations revealed that, William GARBUTT was last seen alive on the 7th day of November 2014 sometime after 11:30pm. At that time he was going home at the above mentioned address and was not seen since. On 10th November 2014 at 9:38pm, the neighbors in the area called the police when they smelled the stench coming from out of his house. A postmortem is scheduled for today. Police are investigating.
