DRUG TRAFFICKING

On 23rd October 2014 at about 8:00am, police searched the residence of Miguel SOLIZ in August Pine Ridge Village, Orange Walk District, where they noticed a male person ran behind the house and threw a black plastic bag. The bag was retrieved containing suspected cannabis. Police have since arrested and charged Miguel SOLIZ, 57yrs; Alina MAGANA, 26yrs; Serafina MEDINA, 55yrs; and Karina TECK, 22yrs, for the offense of Drug Trafficking to wit: 276 grams cannabis.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

On 23rd October 2014, the Associate Director at NICH, reported that on the same date at around 7:30am, he parked a white, 2011 4-door Toyota Hilux pickup truck bearing license plates E-00084 and VIN #: MR0FR22G400585771, property of NICH, in the parking lot beside the NICH Administration Building located on Culvert Road, Belmopan City.  At 8:35am, a male person wearing dark color clothing entered the vehicle, drove away and headed towards San Ignacio Town. Another staff member of NICH pursued the vehicle towards San Ignacio Town Cayo District. As a result, Belmopan Police informed San Ignacio Police of the incident. San Ignacio Police responded by conducting a checkpoint in Georgeville, Cayo District. However, upon seeing the checkpoint, the driver of the stolen vehicle diverted from the checkpoint and abandoned the vehicle at the outskirts of Georgeville. Police have recovered the abandoned vehicle and investigation into the matter continues.
