BELIZE DISTRICT

ARREST    

Reference the robbery of a Chinese Store at Fabers Road Extension sent on 5th September 2014; on 7th September 2014, police arrested and charged 29-year-old Jareth CRAWFORD; 21-year-old Kevin BODDEN; and 21-year-old Christian ROBATEAU, jointly for the Crime of Robbery and Harm. Police also charged Jareth CRAWFORD for one count of Handling Stolen Goods and Attempt Murder upon PC#735 Barrington FLOWERS. Christian ROBATEAU was additionally charged for the crime for Handling Stolen Goods. Seth JONES, 23yrs, was charged with Abetment to Commit Robbery. 25-year-old Kareem SMITH, 20-year-old John LONGSWORTH and 18-year-old Anis BOWEN were jointly charged for the Crime for Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.

MURDER

On 7th September 2014 at 10:05am, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Jason Paul PAULINO, 38 year old Belizean Mechanic of Belize City, suffering from an apparent gunshot injury to the head, one to the right side of the abdomen and two to the left shoulder. Initial investigations revealed that on 7th September 2014 at 9:55am, PAULINO was sitting in a yard on Neal Penn Road, Belize City, along with two persons, when two male persons on a motorcycle stopped in front of him. The passenger fired several shots at PAULINO. PAULINO reportedly attempted to run, but fell. That was when the male person got off the motorcycle and stood over PAULINO and fired several shots causing his fatal injuries. Paulino was transported to the KHMH where he later succumbed to his injuries while being treated and was pronounced dead at 11:00am. The body now lies at the morgue awaiting a postmortem examination. Police investigations continue.

FOUND PROPERTY


On 6th September 2014, a hand grenade, British type, was found in an abandoned building on Banak Street, Belize City. The area was cordoned and secured. BDF were called in and the grenade was retrieved. Police investigations continue.
 
SAN PEDRO TOWN

ARREST

Reference the Murder of Rolando ESPAT Jr., 22 year old Belizean Fisherman of San Pedrito Area, San Pedro Town; police have since arrested and charged Gabriel SALAZAR, 27 year old Belizean Fisherman of San Juan Area, for the crime of Murder. 

STANN CREEK DISTRICT

DROWNING

On 5th September 2014 at 5:45am, police received information of an apparent drowning in front of the Holy Ghost School. The body retrieved from the sea was identified that of Simon NOLBERTO Sr., 45 year old Belizean Businessman of Dangriga Town. Checks were made in the immediate area. His clothes, footwear and a green bicycle were found. Initial investigation revealed that on 5th September 2014 at 4:50am, NOLBERTO Sr. told his common law wife that he was going in front of Holy Ghost School to swim and that was the last time she saw him. The body was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital morgue where it was pronounced dead on arrival, at 6:45am on 5th September 2014. A postmortem was conducted on the body of Simon NOLBERTO Sr., where the doctor certified the cause of death as Asphyxiation by Drowning.
