HOUSE FIRE

At 12:45pm on 26th August 2014, police visited #9198 Holy Emmanuel Street, Belize City where they observed a plycem and board building engulfed in flames. Initial investigations revealed that at 12:20pm on 26th August 2014, Sonia HARRIS, 53 year old of same address, left home leaving her nephew in the house. Shortly after, she received a phone call from a family member informing her that the house was on fire. The fire was extinguished by personnel from the Fire Department. The house and its contents were totally destroyed by the fire. No one was injured. Police have since detained one man pending investigations. 
 
LADYVILLE VILLAGE

At 8:00pm on 26th August 2014, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw the body of Maudilio FRANCO, 77 year old Salvadoran Farmer of Lord’s Bank Village. Initial investigations revealed that FRANCO went fishing at a creek in the Lake Garden area at 2:00pm on that day and when he did not returned home, his sons went looking for him. They found him lying down unconscious in some bushes beside the creek, at about 6:30pm. He was immediately transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, but was pronounced dead at 7:30pm. The body now awaits a postmortem examination. Police investigations continue.
 
CAYO DISTRICT

RAPE

An 18-year-old female of San Ignacio reported that at 5:00pm on 25th August 2014, she was socializing with a male friend, in San Ignacio Town, at his residence where she fell asleep on his bed while under the influence of alcohol.  She further stated that he then had sexual intercourse with her against her will.  A medical examination was conducted on her where the doctor certified that she was sexually known.  The male companion has since been detained pending investigation. 

FOUND PROPERTY 

At 8:00am on 26th August 2014, police conducted a search in an empty lot in the Hill View Area, Santa Elena, which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 120.8grams of cannabis. No one was found in the area and the drugs were deposited as found property.

ARREST

Reference the shooting death of Hansil Elvis GARCIA which occurred on 5th May 2014; on 26th August 2014, police arrested and charged Nisani Daniel GARCIA, 21 year old Baker of Dangriga Town with Murder.
