ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

ROBBERY

On 21st August 2014 at about 2:45pm, Vicente BOL, Belizean Customer Service Representative of Carmelita Village, reported that on 21st August 2014 at about 1:00pm, while outside of Reimers Feed Mill on Lovers Lane in Orange Walk Town, his attention was drawn to two male persons. One of them was armed with a knife and the other with a firearm. Upon entering the establishment, one of the men pointed the firearm at his face and demanded money. One of the robbers then made his way to the drawer where he stole monies (a total within the range of $2,000.00 to $2,500.00). BOL further stated that the other male person hit him on the head with the gun. Both persons then made good their escape. Police are investigating.

POSTMORTEM EXAMINATION
 
A Postmortem Examination was conducted on the body of Jesus Noel TAMAY between the hours of 4:25pm and 6:00pm at the Corozal Community Hospital Morgue. At the conclusion, the cause of death was certified as Combined Mechanical Asphyxia and Venous Congestion due to Hanging.

PUNTA GORDA TOWN

FIRE

Based on information received from the Fire Department, of a fire on George Price Street which was already extinguished, at about 6:00am on 19th August 2014, police visited the scene and noticed that it was a two storage building. The upper flat with a Labor Office had an AC unit that had burn completely. The Labor Officer Punta Gorda Branch reported that on 18th August 2014, she left work securing the door, however, forgot to turn off the AC unit. She stated that on 19th August 2014 at 7:50am she received a call from Fire Services stating that her office was on fire earlier. Upon her arrival at the office, she saw smoke and water damages. A number of items were burnt in the fire. Police are investigating.
