DRUG TRAFFICKING
On 18th August 2014 at about 8:00am, while police were travelling from Corozal to Orange walk Town and upon reaching the junction of Buena Vista and Caledonia Village, their attention was drawn to a male person who was sitting on a rock, acting suspiciously. The officers approached the male person and conducted a search on him, but nothing incriminating was found. However, directly in front of where he was sitting, police observed a black plastic bag that was found to contain 506 grams of suspected cannabis. As a result, police arrested and charged Hotoniel ESTRADA, 31 year old Mason of Caledonia Village, for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
ROBBERY
A 37-year-old woman, Belizean Manager, reported that on 18th August 2014 at about 8:45am, she decided to take two white envelopes: (1) envelope containing $1,800.00US the other envelope containing $2,000.00US, to be deposited in a safe at a residence. Upon opening the safe and placing the envelopes inside, someone approached her from behind. The person covered her mouth with his hand and threatened to kill her if she made any sudden movements. The complainant then saw the person take out the two envelopes from inside the safe and upon turning to see who it was, she was knocked to her head by this person with an unknown object. Thereafter, the person made his escape, taking along with the two envelopes. Police investigation continues.

ARREST
Reference the death of Honorio Marcelino OBA, on 18th August 2014 at 2:30pm, police formally arrested and charged Charles A. FLORES, 38 year old Belizean Customs Officer of Benque Viejo Town, for the crime of Manslaughter.
MISSING PERSON
Doris Elenie ZELAYA, 39 year old of Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk District, reported that on 17th August 2014 at about 9:00am, her step-daughter Deirie TAMAY, 16 year old of same address, left her house without saying anything and took some clothes. Deirie is of Hispanic descent, clear complexion, slim built, about 5 feet 1 inch in height, has straight short black hair, brown small eyes, and a long nose. She was last seen wearing a black blouse and a pink skirt with a pair of black sandals. Police are investigating.

Reference the Fatal Road Traffic Accident report sent on 17th August 2014; on 19th August 2014, Deputy Commissioner of Police Miguel SEGURA was arrested and charged with:
1. Manslaughter by Negligence
2. Causing Death by Careless Conduct
3. Drove Motor Vehicle Without due Care and Attention
4. Driving with Alcohol Concentration above the Prescribed Limit
5. Negligent Grievous Harm
Mr. Miguel SEGURA has since been placed on suspension from the Police Department. The sixth charge levied today, 19th August 2014, against the Deputy Commissioner of Police Miguel SEGURA is Failing to Alter Direction to Give Way.
STANN CREEK DISTRICT
MURDER
On 18th August 2014 at about 6:20pm, acting on information received of a female person murdered inside her home and a male person taken to Southern Regional Hospital for injuries received, Police visited the vacation home of 71 year old Dudley AUGUSTINE, located in Hopkins. Upon arrival at the two story concrete structure, police observed the body of a female, lying in a pool of blood, apparently dead. The female was observed to have a swollen and bruised left eye and two apparent stab wounds to the back of the neck region. She was later identified as 47 year old Josephine AUGUSTINE, Belizean teacher of#36 Ghans Avenue Dangriga. Initial investigation revealed that Dudley AUGUSTINE, Belizean retired teacher of same address, was present at his vacation home in Hopkins, along with his wife, Josephine AUGUSTINE, when they were attacked. As a result, Mrs. AUGUSTINE was fatally wounded and her husband, Dudley AUGUSTINE received serious body injuries. He was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital and later to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment. The body of Mrs. Josephine AUGUSTINE was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital morgue where it awaits a postmortem examination. Police investigation continues.

THEFT
Nestor CHINCHILLA, 32 year old Belizean Mechanic of Independence Village, reported that sometime between 8th August 2014 and 9th August 2014, someone stole his black 9.8 Horsepower Tohatsu two-stroke outboard boat engine which was attached to a boat at Waterside Area, Independence Village. Police are investigating and are looking for one person for questioning.
