KEPT PROHIBITED FIREARM/UNLICENSED AMMUNITION/DRUG TRAFFICKING

A Belizean Special Constable/Forest Ranger reported that while he and other forest officers were on patrol in the Honey Camp National Park at 2:30pm on 13th August 2014, they searched a tent that was located on Chiwa Camp located about 2miles East of Honey Camp Lagoon. Present during the time of the search were Estevan CHAY, Juan GERONIMO and Martin LOPEZ. The search led to the discovery of a .22 homemade rifle with a magazine containing two .22 live rounds, a coffee bottle containing 64.4grams of cannabis seeds and a crocus sack containing 78.5grams of suspected cannabis. While escorting the men towards the vehicle, GERONIMO and LOPEZ made good their escape. Police have since arrested and charged Estevan CHAY, 30 year old Belizean Labourer of San Jose Village, with Kept Prohibited Firearm, Kept Ammunition without a Gun License and two counts of Drug Trafficking. Police are looking for Juan GERONIMO and Martin LOPEZ pending charges.

ARREST

Reference the Carnal Knowledge report sent on 10th August 2014, police arrested and charged two 15 year old Belizean Students of Belize City with Unlawful Sexual Intercourse.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

On 13th August 2014 at about 8:10am, a 24-year-old man of San Mateo Area, visited the Police Station and reported that at about 7:30pm on 12th August 14, he was standing in front of the first Dock on Nurse Shark Street when two men approached him. One of the men pulled out a 9mm pistol, pointed it in his face and threatened to kill him. Police have since detained a 21-year-old and 19-year-old male, both Belizean Fishermen of San Pedrito Area, pending charges of Aggravated Assault.

DRUG TRAFFICKING

At 9:35am on 13th August 2014, police conducted a search at the residence of Juan Francisco RUIZ, of Valley of Peace Village, Cayo District. Present at the time of the search was Daniel Enrique BARRERA, 43 year old Salvadoran Farmer of Valley of Peace Village. The search led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 232grams of suspected cannabis. BARRERA has since been arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking and Police are looking for RUIZ pending charges.

On 14th August 2014, Police conducted a search at the residence of Guy JONES, of Unitedville Village, Cayo District, which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 189grams of suspected cannabis. Also present at the time of the search was Oswaldo JONES, Police Officer, who is presently on interdiction. Both men have since been detained pending charges.
