BELIZE CITY

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

A 33-year-old man of Belize City visited the CIB office and reported that at about 10:00pm on 11th August 2014, he was with a friend socializing in his neighbor's yard when two male persons approached them. One of the male persons pulled out a black handgun and threatened to kill him. Both male persons then walked away. Police have since detained two male minors, ages 17 and 16, pending investigation. 

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

MISSING PERSON

Ignacio GRIJALVA, of La Gracia Village, reported that at around 12:30am on 9th August 2014, her 13-year-old daughter, Ingris RAMIREZ, Belizean Student, left home and has not been seen or heard from up to the time of making this report. Ingris is of Hispanic descent, about 5 feet in height, weighs about 110lbs and has long black straight hair. She was last seen wearing a white blouse, blue skirt and beige slippers. Police are investigating.
 
KEPT FIREARM AND AMMUNITION WITHOUT A GUN LICENSE 

On 11th August 2014 at about 10:40am, a composite patrol consisting of police, B.D.F. and FCD Ranger were conducting routine patrol in the Caracol Archeological Reserve in Belizean territory when they encountered four Hispanic male persons sitting down around a fire. Upon approaching these persons, two of them ran away. The area was checked where a .22 Armscor model 20P .22 rifle, loaded with a magazine and thirteen live .22 rounds, were found on the ground next to the two male persons who did not run. Further checks were made and a transparent plastic bag containing forty .22 live rounds was found. Both minors, ages 15 and 17, were escorted to the San Ignacio Police Station along with the ammunition and firearm. Both minors were jointly charged for the offense of Kept Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition without a Gun License.
 
BELMOPAN CITY

ROBBERY         

Rory GUITY, 28 year old of Belmopan City, reported that at around 3:00pm on 12th August 2014, he went swimming at the river located in the Rivera Area, Belmopan City, with his family and at around 5:00pm while getting ready to leave, they were approached by a lone gun man who pointed a gun to his wife's head, who was holding their 3-month-old son. The gunman ordered her to hand over all valuable items. Fearing for their lives, they handed over a quantity of items, including cellular phones and jewelry. The culprit then escaped in the nearby bushes. Police are seeking three men from Roaring Creek Village as investigations continue.

PUNTA GORDA TOWN

MISSING PERSON

At 9:55pm on 12th August 2014, Anna BALDIZAN, 52 year old of Elridgeville, Toledo District, reported that her 15-year-old granddaughter, Sophia TRAPP, of Water Supply Area, Punta Gorda Town, left her home on 9th August 2014 and has not returned. Sophia is of Hispanic descent, brown complexion, about 5 feet in height and weighs about 130lbs. She has black crimp shoulder length hair, a sharp nose, and thin eyebrows. Police are investigating.
 
ARREST

Reference the report on Extortion, dated 11th August 2014, police charged Dykes RODRIGUEZ, 29-year-old Police Officer of Indianville, Punta Gorda Town, for the crime of Extortion.
 
Reference the report made on 29th July 2014 by Evalinda SHO, Police charged Juan Caal CHEN, 46 year old Guatemalan Farmer of Elridgeville, Toledo District, for the crimes of Attempt Murder and Maim.
