BELIZE CITY

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On 8th August 2014 at about 8:35pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where Mauricio RODRIQUEZ, 25 year old Belizean Construction Worker of Belize City, was seen suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the left shoulder and right buttock. Initial investigation revealed that at about 8:30pm, RODRIQUEZ was socializing in a yard on Apollo Street in the Belama Phase 4 area, along with three other male persons when the sound of loud bangs was heard and Rodriquez subsequently sustained injuries. Police have recovered nine (.9mm) expended shells from the scene. Mauricio RODRIQUEZ was taken to the K.H.M.H. were he is in a stable condition. Police are seeking two men as the investigation continues.
 
MURDER

On 9th August 2014 at 4:15am, Belize City police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where Raheem CRAWFORD, 20 year old of Belize City, was seen with an apparent gunshot wound to the left side of his lower back. Also, Kevin FABER, 25 year old of same address, was observed with an apparent gunshot wound to the left leg and back of the neck. Initial investigation revealed that at about 3:49am, both persons were travelling on a motor bike on Gibnut Street when a male person came out from behind a parked vehicle and fired several shots at them causing their injuries. Raheem CRAWFORD later succumbed to his injury while undergoing treatment and was pronounced dead at 4:35am. Ten (.9 mm) expended shells were recovered from the scene. The body of Raheem CRAWFORD now lies at the KHMH morgue awaiting a postmortem examination. Kevin FABER is listed in a stable condition. Police are seeking one man as investigation continues.

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On 9th August 2014 at about 9:45am, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where they saw Joshua Jerome GALLEGO, 21 year old of Belize City, suffering from one apparent gunshot wound to his left forearm. Initial investigation revealed that at about 9:40am, GALLEGO was walking on Antelope Street, Belize City, when a male person approached him from behind and fired two shots at him causing his injury. Police investigations continue.

MURDER

On 9th August 2014 at about 11:40am, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Morgue where the body of Ernest Dwayne MEIGHAN, 42 year old Belizean Cyclist of Belize City, was observed with an apparent gunshot wound to the back of the head. Initial investigations revealed that about 11:35am, MEIGHAN arrived in his white Tacoma pickup truck in front of a residence on George Street, Belize City. Reportedly, he was standing in front of the residence when a young male person approached him from behind and fired a single shot to the back of his head causing the fatal injury. Police have recovered one expended shell from the scene as investigations continue.

HATTIEVILLE VILLAGE

MURDER

On 9th August 2014 at about 8:54am, Hattieville Police responded to a report at a boat yard, at Ml 7 3/4 on the George Price Highway, where Jose PORTILLO, 42 year old Honduran National, was seen with multiple chop wounds to his head and body. PORTILLO was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police are seeking the Boat Yard’s Watchman, Armando SOSA; Honduran national, who is believed to be able to assist in the investigation.

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On 10th August 2014 at about 4:05am, while a social gathering was occurring at residence on Yssaguirre Boulevard in Hattieville, a shot was fired into the gathering from over an adjacent fence, injuring three persons. Gregory LESLIE, 40 year old of Belize City, received injuries to his hand and abdomen; Kevin STAINE, 26 year old of Hattieville, received injuries to the back of the head; and Orlando BOWEN, Cpl of Police attached to the Ladyville sub-formation, received injury/grazed to the hand. All three persons were treated at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Police investigations continue.
