DRUG TRAFFICKING

On 8th August 2014 at 1:45pm, police conducted a vehicle check point on the Phillip Goldson Highway, between miles 68 and 69, where a search was conducted on a gold Toyota Corolla. Inside the taxi, Toyota Corolla, were; the driver, Jorghino CHAN, 20 year old Belizean Taxi Driver of Orange Walk Town; Luis CHAVEZ, 38 year old Belizean Fisherman of Belmopan City; and Jose Luis VALLADAREZ, 26 year old Belizean Laborer of Armenia Village, Cayo District. The search led to the discovery of 1,200grams of suspected cocaine.  The drugs were taken into the station and labeled as exhibit while CHAN, CHAVEZ and VALLADAREZ were arrested and charged for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
