BELIZE DISTRICT

MURDER

At 6:24am on 17th July 2014, Police visited Gravy Street, Belize City, where they saw the body of Lionel Daniel SAMPSON, 28 year old of Iguana Street Extension, lying on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds to the left hand, left jaw, upper right side of back, left side of his body and right side of the temple. Initial investigations revealed that SAMPSON was walking on Gravy Street en route to his residence when he was approached by a male person who fired several gunshots in his direction causing his injuries. SAMPSON was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 8:00am. Police recovered (5) 9mm expended shells from the scene and have detained one person, pending investigations.  
 
PRELIMINARY REPORT (MURDER)

On 18th July 2014, at about 6:00am, the body of a male person was found with apparent stab wounds to the body on Wilson Street, Belize City. Police investigations continue.
 
ROBBERY

At 10:26am on 17th July 2014, acting on information received of a robbery in progress on Oleander Street, Belize City, police visited the area where they detained a 21 year old of Belize City, who was fleeing from the area. Initial investigations revealed that Bowen and Bowen personnel were making a delivery at 11 Shop, located on Oleander Street, when three male persons armed with firearms tried to rob the persons on board the truck. As a result, the male persons managed to take away a black 9mm pistol along with a magazine containing 12 live rounds, from the security guard, who was the security escort at the time. The Bowen and Bowen Supervisor was also robbed of his black Samsung Note 3 cell phone. The 21 year old male person has since been detained pending investigations.
 
UNLICENSED FIREARM / AMMUNITION

At 1:20pm on 17th July 2014, police conducted a search at a residence on Lavender Street, Belize City, which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing a black 32 auto firearm and magazine containing (5) FC 32 Auto live rounds. Present at the time of the search was 21 year old Francis ARANA, of same address. He has since been detained, pending charges.  
 
LADYVILLE VILLAGE

DRUG TRAFFICKING

At 5:30am on 17th July 2014, Police conducted a search on Raquel GOMEZ, 35 year old of Crooked Tree Village, Belize District, which led to the discovery of a transparent tube containing 1.2 grams of suspected crack-cocaine. GOMEZ have since been arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking.
