COROZAL DISTRICT
 
DANGEROUS HARM

Andrew LOPEZ, 24 year old of Xaibe Village, reported that on 22nd June 2014 at about 7:00pm, he was walking on the side of the main road in Libertad Village, Corozal District, along with his wife when upon reaching the junction of the Phillip Goldson Highway he noticed a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The vehicle almost hit him and he immediately ran into the nearby bushes with his wife. As a result, LOPEZ shouted at the driver, who stopped the vehicle and reversed. The driver, a young man, exited the vehicle with a wheel spanner in his hands and attacked LOPEZ, hitting him all over his body. LOPEZ was then assisted by some neighbors and his attacker fled the scene in his red Ford Pickup. Andrew LOPEZ was taken to the Corozal Community Hospital where the doctor certified his injuries as Dangerous Harm. Police are looking for the attacker as investigation continues.

ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

ARSON

On Saturday, 21st June 2014, at about 1:49am, Elder OLIVA, 27 year old of August Pine Ridge Village, and his brother, Jairo CHI, 28 year old also of August Pine Ridge Village, reported that on 20th June 2014 at 7:00pm, they left their house and at about 10:30pm, he and his brother, Jairo, were returning home. On their way home, they met a man riding his bicycle coming from the direction of their house. Upon reaching home they saw their house roof engulfed in flames. Immediately, with the assistance of the villagers, they managed to extinguish the fire. All items inside the house were completely destroyed by the fire. Police are looking for one man for questioning.

BELIZE CITY

FOUND PROPERTY                                                                                                      

On Friday, 20th June 2014, at about 8:15am, while police were conducting an operation at an abandoned lot on Rivero Street, Belize City, they discovered a black and silver colored .22 Smith and Wesson pistol inside a bucket  along with a magazine containing (8) eight .22 live rounds. The pistol and (8) eight .22 live rounds were sealed and labeled as found property.

SHOOTING INCIDENT           

On Saturday, 21st June 2014, at about 7:05pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Javan CLARE, 19 year old Student of Iguana Street, Belize City, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the right arm. Initial investigations revealed that on Saturday, at about 7:00pm, CLARE was along with two other men transporting two-sound system speakers on a tricycle on Ben Bow Street when a dark complexion male person, who came riding from behind on a bicycle, fired several shots towards them causing the injuries on Javan CLARE. He then made good his escape. Police are investigating.

FOUND PROPERTY

On Saturday, 21st June 2014, at about 3:15pm, while conducting an operation on Rivero Street, Belize City, police discovered two black plastic bags lying on top of some bushes. The bags were opened and found to contain green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis. No one was present during the time of the search. The suspected cannabis was weighed and amounted to 100 grams. The bags were then labeled and sealed as Found Property.

CAYO DISTRICT

THEFT OF MOTOR CYCLE

A 26 year old man of Spanish Lookout Village, Cayo District, reported that sometime between the hours of 3:00pm and 3:20pm, on 20th June 2014, someone stole his blue 2014 Meilun brand motor cycle which was parked in front of FTC Store, Spanish Lookout.  Police are investigating.

BURGLARY              

A 56 year old Businesswoman of San Ignacio Town reported that between the hours of 9:00pm on 21st June 2014 and 5:35am on 22nd June 2014, her business place ‘Venus Photos and Records Store’ that is situated on Hudson Street, San Ignacio Town, was burglarized. Stolen were a quantity of electronic items and assorted jewelry. Police are investigating.

ROBBERY                                          

A 20 year old male collector for D-Mundo Company reported that, on 20th June 2014 at about 4:00pm, he was going on the main street of Rivera area on his personal motor cycle when he was attacked by a dark complexion male person, who pointed what appeared to be a gun at him. The culprit then pulled away his laptop bag from around his right hand side. In the bag were some cards, receipts and $547.00Bcy in cash; all properties of the company. After taking the bag, the culprit punched him on the left side of his face and escaped in the bushes. Police are investigating.

STABBING INCIDENT

On 21st June 2014 at 9:06pm, Belmopan Police visited the Western Regional Hospital where they saw Moses Alexander RUIZ, 22 year old Belizean Farmer of Valley of Peace Village, suffering from an apparent stab wound to the left side. Initial investigation revealed that Moses RUIZ was at a graduation party in Valley of Peace when he was attacked by a man who inflicted the stab wound for no apparent reason. Police are looking for the male person for questioning.

PUNTA GORDA TOWN
 
FOUND PROPERTY

On Friday, 20th June 2014, at about 10:00am, police visited the Dump area in Punta Gorda Town where they found a transparent plastic bag containing suspected cannabis. The bag was taken to the station where it was weighed. The drugs amounted to 844 grams. The drugs were then sealed and label as found property.
