BELIZE DISTRICT

HOUSE FIRE

At 3:35am on 17th June 2014, police visited #65 Corner Mahogany Street Extension and Jasmine Street, Belize City, where they observed a concrete bungalow structure engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by the Fire Department. Bokang NYATHI, 48 year old Nigerian Businessman of same address, reported that, at 9:00pm on 16th June 2014, he left his business place properly secured and upon making checks at 3:50am on 17th June 2014, he discovered that it was totally destroyed by fire. The building did not have any electricity and the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. No one was injured. Police investigations continue.

FOUND PROPERTY

At 9:30pm on 16th June 2014, police conducted a search on an empty lot on Kraal Road, Belize City, which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 102grams of suspected cannabis.  No one was found in the area and the drugs were deposited as found property.

PROPERTY RECOVERED

Reference the Theft of Vessel report made by Jermain Anthony Isiah ROWLAND and sent on 14th June 2014; on 15th June 2014, his yellow and green 25’ fiberglass skiff, namely ‘Belizean Breeze’ was recovered by the Belize Coast Guard in the Burdon Canal Area, Belize District.

PROPERTY RECOVERED

Reference Theft of Motor Vehicle report made by Glenda SANCHEZ and sent on 16th June 2014, SANCHEZ further reported that, at 6:15pm on 16th June 2014, she recovered her black and red club cart in some bushes off the main road, near Belizean Shores.
