COROZAL DISTRICT

SUSPECTED HIT AND RUN

Acting on information received, at about 8:38pm on 9th June 2014, Corozal Police visited the entrance of Xaibe Village, Corozal District, from the San Andres Road, where they saw a male lying down on the side of the road and bleeding from head injuries. The male person was later identified as Leocadio COB, of Xaibe. COB was then transported to the Corozal Community Hospital and later to the K Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical condition. Police suspect a “hit and run” as investigations continue.

BELIZE CITY

SHOOTING INCIDENT

At about 8:04am this morning, a shooting incident was reported on Vernon Street where Rafael CRUZ, 27 year old Construction Worker, was shot in the abdomen. CRUZ was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. Police investigations continue.
 
ARSON

On 9th June 2014 at 9:36am, 29 year old Haidu of Belize City visited Precinct #4 Police Station and reported that, sometime between the hours of 1:30am and 2:15am, he was asleep at his residence when he was awaken by his neighbor. The neighbor informed him that his vehicle was on fire. When he checked, he noticed that his Black 2006 Mazda Tribute SUV was engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived after being called and extinguished the fire. Police investigation continues.
