DRUG TRAFFICKING

On 3rd June 2014 at around 2:10pm, police were on motorcycle patrol in the Western Paradise area when they saw Andrew Alexander SMITH, 27 year old Watchman of Western Paradise Area, take an object from out of his pocket and throw it under a fence. SMITH was escorted to the area where the black plastic was retrieved; it was found to contain a green leafy substance consistent to cannabis. SMITH and the drugs were escorted to the station where it was weighed in his presence; which amounted to 115 grams. Andrew Alexander SMITH was then arrested and charged for the crime of drug trafficking to wit: 115 grams cannabis.

ATTEMPT ROBBERY          

On 4th June 2014 sometime around 10:30am, information was received of a robbery in progress at Santiago Juan Layout Area. As a result, police visited the area where a 41 year old woman reported that while in her kitchen she heard her daughter-in-law screaming from inside the shop (Miriam store) and that upon coming out to investigate, she saw a male person of dark complexion with half of his body through a burglar bar window. The male person was observed taking the cash pan from inside the shop. She reportedly hit the person with her hand and he dropped the cash pan. She then noticed a second person of dark complexion standing in the same building with a black gun in his hand, pointing it at her and demanding her to hand over her money. She then reportedly told her daughter-in-law to hand her the gun and upon hearing this, both persons took off running making good their escape, empty-handed. Swift police action led to the detention of two minors (ages 16 and 17) of Santiago Juan Layout. Police investigations continue.
