POSTMORTEM EXAMINATION

On 28th May 2014 between the hours of 1:00pm and 4:00pm, a postmortem examination was conducted on the body of Ezekiel MEDINA, 25 year old of Rivers Estate, Dangriga Town. At the conclusion of the postmortem examination, the doctor certified the cause of death to be Exsanguination, as a result of external bleeding due to stab wounds to the back.

CAYO DISTRICT

MURDER

On 28th May 2014 at about 5:00pm, based on information received of a dead body found in Los Tambos village, Cayo District, police visited that location where in a house at a farm on the outskirts of the village, the body of a male person was seen. According to a neighbor, the male person identified as Oscar Armando Gomez ALVAREZ, 28 year old Honduran National, went to her house and had a cup of coffee at about 9:30am and then left. However, at about 4:00pm, her 10 year old son went to ALVAREZ’s house and upon entering he saw him motionless. The boy then reported it to his mother. Information received was that, on 18th May 2014, ALVAREZ was attacked by an unknown male person who inflicted several chop wounds on him. He received two large chop wounds to the left side of the face and four on the left shoulder area. ALVAREZ was taken to the Western Regional Hospital where he was treated and released. The body was taken to the morgue at San Ignacio Community Hospital where it was pronounced dead at 8:00pm. Police investigations continue.

BELMOPAN CITY

RE-CAPTURE

On 29th May 2014 between the hours of 2:30am and 4:30am, an operation was conducted by Belmopan Police at Hotelito Apartments which is situated on Cemetery Road, Salvapan Area, Belmopan City. The operation was carried out for the re-capture of 30 year old Edwin PAULA, a Belizean escapee who is wanted for Murder. Police conducted a search in one of the rooms where they found a 19 year old woman and Edwin PAULA. Both persons were detained and escorted to the Belmopan Police Station.

POSTMORTEM EXAMINATION

On 28th May 2014 between the hours of 4:24pm to 5:15pm, a postmortem examination was conducted on the body of Marcial MES, 64 year old of San Marcos Village, Toledo District, which certified the cause of death to be Traumatic Shock due to multiple Chest and Spinal injuries and rapture of the Aorta due to Road Traffic Accident.
