MURDER
On 26th May 2014 at 5:23am, police visited corner Partridge and Lavender Streets, Belize City, where near the riverside; they saw the body of 25 year old Ezekiel HERNANDEZ, of Dangriga Town. Upon making physical checks on the body, it was observed that the male person had 3 apparent stab wounds to the upper right side of the back. The body was transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where it was pronounced dead at 7:08am on 26th May 2014. The body now lies at the KHMH Morgue awaiting a postmortem examination. Police investigations continue.
MURDER
On 25th May 2014 at 1:46am, police visited Banak Street where they saw a green 4 door Geo Prism that crashed into a fence. Inside the car, the body of Norman Stanley THOMPSON, 56 year old Taxi Driver of Belize City, was found in a sitting position on the driver’s side with two apparent gunshot wounds. One (1) gunshot wound to his right upper shoulder and (1) to the right upper back. Initial investigations revealed that while Norman Stanley THOMPSON was driving his car down an alley, beside La Popular Bakery, he was ambushed by unknown person(s) who fired two gunshots at him causing the fatal injuries. Two 9mm Aguila Brand expended shells were retrieved from the area. The body was transported to the Belize City Morgue where it was pronounced dead at 3:10am. Police investigations continue.
FOUND PROPERTY
On 23rd May 2014 at about 6:30pm, while police were on mobile patrol they visited the Dyke area on Faber’s road extension where they found a black plastic bag containing suspected cannabis. No one was in the area at the time. The suspected cannabis was taken to the Precinct 2 Raccoon St Police Station where it was weighed. The drug amounted to 195 grams. It was then labeled as found property.

DRUG TRAFFICKING
On 26th May 2014 at 2:00pm, police conducted a search at residence at mile 21 Southern Highway, Santa Cruz Village, Stann Creek District. Present at the time of the search were 30 year old Byro MADRID and 54 year old Felicita MADRID, both of the same address. A search conducted about fifteen feet away from the house led police to discover a black plastic bag containing 330.5grams cannabis. Further checks made in the area led to the discovery of a Malher container which contained 157.9 grams of cannabis; all to a total amount of 448.4grms of cannabis. Both Byro MADRID and Felicita MADRID was arrested and charged for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
