ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On 14th May 2014 at about 9:00pm, Orange Walk Police were on mobile patrol on Yo Creek Road, Orange Walk District, when they observed two male persons on a small motorcycle travelling on the right hand side of the road, travelling from the direction of Yo Creek heading to Orange Walk Town. The police ordered the two male persons to pull over, but they refused. The male person that was seated behind the driver of the cycle threw two knapsacks from the cycle. Two warning shots were fired at the riders where they came to a stop. Police escorted the two persons to the location where they had thrown the two bags.  A search conducted inside both bags revealed suspected cannabis.  Both persons were escorted to the Orange Walk Police station where they were identified as minors, ages 16 and 17 years, both of Orange Walk Town. At the station the suspected cannabis was weighed which amounted to 4762.6 grams. Police have formally arrested and charged both minors for the offence of Drug Trafficking.
 
On 15th May 2014 at 8:00pm, Orange Walk Police searched the residence of Georgina FLORES, located in the Village of San Lazaro, Orange Walk District.  Present at the time of the search were Tatiana NOVELO, 23 year old Belizean Domestic; Wilson FLORES, 22 year old Belizean Cane Cutter; and Georgina FLORES, 65 year old Belizean Domestic, all of San Lazaro Village, Orange Walk District.  The search led to the discovery of a green plastic bag containing 62 small silver foil packets that contained suspected cannabis. All above mentioned persons were escorted to the Orange Walk Police station where the suspected cannabis was weighed. The drugs amounted to 64.6 grams. Police have formally arrested and charged Tatiana NOVELO, Wilson FLORES and Georgina FLORES for the offence of Drug Trafficking.

BELIZE DISTRICT

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Kindly be on the lookout for a white in color 1997 four door Suzuki Sidekick bearing license plate BC C-15795 that was reported stolen from #2115 Guava Street, Belama Phase 1, Belize City, sometime between the hours of 5:00pm on 13th May 2014 and 7:00am on 14th May 2014 while it was parked on the street side in front of the residence. Police investigations continue.

WOUNDING

At 12:30pm on 14th May 2014, San Pedro Police visited the San Pedro Otto Rodriguez Poly Clinic where they saw Lorena MONTES, of a DFC Address, suffering from injuries to the upper body. Initial Investigation revealed that there was a street fight on Swan Street, San Pedro Town, involving two women, namely Lorena MONTES and a woman of San Pedro Town. As a result of that fight, Lorena MONTES reportedly received multiple stab wounds to her upper body and was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital via air ambulance to seek further medical attention. Police investigations continue.

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

MISSING PERSON                        

On 14th May 2014 at 10:00am, the supervisor of Octavia Waight Center, No. 3 Carmelita Street, San Ignacio Town, reported that on 9th May 2014 at about 10:00am Richard Williams RISHEL, 75 year old American Retiree, Resident of Octavia Waight Center, left the place to take a walk within San Ignacio and up to the time of making this report his whereabouts is still unknown. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans pants. Richard Williams RISHEL is of fair complexion, 5 feet 7 inches in height, slim built, weighs about 140lbs, has a narrow face, sharp nose and grey hair. Police are investigating.
