COROZAL DISTRICT

ROBBERY

Edgar LORIA,
30 year old Belizean Salesman of Ranchito Village, reported that at 10:35am, on the 22nd of January 2018, whilst driving a white Nissan Frontier pick-up along 7th Avenue, Corozal Town, heading towards Belize Bank, a black Astro Van without license plate drove up beside him and a passenger in the Astro Van ordered him to stop. As a result, he pulled to the side of the road where the van pulled up next to him and a dark complexion male person wearing a ski mask over his face and armed with a hand gun exited the van and pointed the gun at him demanding money. LORIA handed over a green deposit bag containing $5,751.00bcy in cash. Police are investigating.

BELIZE DISTRICT

FOUND PROPERTY

At 3:45pm, on the 22nd of January 2018, Police conducted a search in an abandoned lot on Pitts Alley which led to the discovery of (1) silver and black .25 pistol along with an empty magazine and a black plastic bag containing 119.8 grams of cannabis. No one was in the area and the drugs and firearm were deposited as found property.

CITY OF BELMOPAN

FOUND PROPERTY

At 12:00pm, on the 22nd of January 2018, Police conducted a search along the creek side near Suriname Street, San Martin Area, Belmopan which led to the black plastic bag containing (1) homemade shotgun and another black plastic bag containing 11grams of cannabis.  No one was found in the area and the firearm and drugs were deposited as found property.


INTER-MEDIATE SOUTHERN FORMATION

DRUG TRAFFICKING

At 3:30am, on the 22nd of January 2018, Police conducted a search at the residence of Anthony ARGUETA, 29 year old Belizean Labourer of Mayan King Farm, Stann Creek District, which led to the discovery of a transparent bag containing (9) grams of crack-cocaine, further searches resulted in the discovery of an additional (3) grams of crack-cocaine, and a total of (390) grams of cannabis. ARGUETA have been arrested and charged with (3) counts of Drug Trafficking.
