SHOOTING INCIDENT

On the 21st of January 2018 at about 6:42pm, Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where they observed Ajesha Felisha HUMES, 26 year old  Belizean Data Entry Clerk of a Belize City address, suffering from (1) apparent gunshot wound to the upper right arm. Initial investigation revealed that about 6:30pm, HUMES was on Casuarina Street conversing with a male companion when an unknown male person approached them on a bicycle and fired several shots in their direction causing her injury. Ajesha HUMES is in a stable condition. Police are investigating.

FOUND PROPERTY

On the 21st of January 2018 at about 5:00 pm, Officers from the Gang Suppression Unit conducted an operation in Western Pines, the 8 Miles Community within the Pine Ridge, and as a result, they discovered (94) black plastic bags containing cannabis hidden within a PVC pipe buried in the ground. Further searches within the same area resulted in a further discovery of (39) parcels wrapped and secured with duct tape. The (94) parcels were weighed and amounted to 23.3 pounds or 10.6 kilograms and the (39) parcels amounted to 28.6 pounds/13 kilograms. Items were labeled and deposited as found property since no one was found in the area.

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 21st of January 2018 at 8:30am, San Pedro Police were conducting patrol on Nurse Shark Street, when their attention was drawn to (2) two male persons standing on a pier. As a result, officers conducted a search that resulted in the discovery of (1) one foil paper containing cannabis amounting to (115) grams. Police arrested and charged both, Genzo NUNEZ, 24 year old Belizean Tour Guide, and Joshua CRAFT, 24 year old, for the offence of Drug Trafficking.

CITY OF BELMOPAN

FOUND PROPERTY

On the 21st of January 2018, Belmopan Police conducted a search on a feeder road in Camalote Village that resulted in the discovery of (5) parcels containing (2050) grams cannabis. Items were labeled and deposited as found property since no one was found in the area.
