COROZAL DISTRICT

CHOPPING INCIDENT

On the 26th of August 2017 at 11:50pm, police responded to a chopping incident at Patchakan Village where they saw Diego EK, 23yro, suffering from chop wounds to his hands and feet. He was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk for treatment. Police have since detained 27-year-old Luis COB and 25-year-old Walter GOMEZ, both of Patchakan Village, pending investigation.

SAN PEDRO TOWN

KEPT PROHIBITED FIREARM AND AMMUNITION

On the 26th of August 2017 at 2:40pm, police conducted searches at a wooden house in the Escalante Sub division, DFC area, San Pedro Town. Ellerton STAINE, 28-year-old Security Guard; Joshua GONGORA; 21-year-old Electrician; Andrew REYES, 24-year-old Unemployed; Clifford SPENCER, 21-year-old Construction Worker; Ruth HYDE, 29-year-old Shop Assistant; Elton STAINE, 30-year-old Security; and a 16-year-old minor, all of same address, were all present during the time of the search. A search conducted in the yard led to the discovery of a silver colored pistol along with a magazine containing (8) rounds of ammunition. All (7) individuals were arrested and charged for the offence of Kept Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition.
