COROZAL DISTRICT 

FOUND PROPERTY

On the 12th of August 2017 at 10:30pm, Corozal Police acted on information and visited an empty overgrown lot on 2nd Street North, Corozal Town and discovered a black Springfield Armory gun case containing a homemade gun painted purple adapted to fire 16 gauge cartridges. No one was found in the immediate area. The homemade hand gun was labeled and deposited as Found Property.   

ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

THEFT OF CATTLE

On the 13th of August 2017 at 2:00pm, Felipe BLANCO, 35-year-old Businessman of August Pine Ridge Village, reported that between the hours of 3:00pm on the 11th of August 2017 and 3:00pm on the 12th of August 2017, someone stole (8) American Brahma Bull from his farm located one-mile north of August Pine Ridge Village. Police are investigating.

 

BELIZE CITY

DRUG TRAFFICKING

On the 13th of August 2017 at 4:30pm, while police were on patrol in the area of West Collet Canal, Belize City, they stopped and searched Carlos Roland CORONADO, 28-year-old of a Dangriga address. The search led to the discovery of 1,149 grams of cannabis found in a knapsack which he was carrying. He was arrested and charged for the offence of "Drug Trafficking".               

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

MISSING PERSON

Radiance GILLETT, 52-year-old Missionary of Unitedville Village, reported that on the 12th of August 2017, sometime between the hours of 9:00am and 10:00am, she had devotion at her house in Unitedville with five children that she is caring for. Shortly after she noticed that one of the females, 14-year-old student Sharema OLIVERA was missing. Sharema is of dark complexion, about 5ft 4in in height, slim built, about 125 pounds, has short black hair, narrow face, black eyes and thick lips. Sharema reportedly left the house wearing a brown blouse, stripped black and white skirt with frills and has not returned since. This was not the first time that Sharema has done this. The Public is asked for assistance in locating her. 

ST MATTHEWS VILLAGE

FATAL ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

About 10:40pm on the 10th of August 2017, acting upon information of a road traffic accident in St. Matthew’s Village, Roaring Creek Police visited a scene between mile 37 & 38 on the George Price Highway, where they saw Juan Eulalio Chavin VITZIL, 57-year-old of St. Matthew’s Village, on the road side with injuries to the head and body. Also beside him about 10 feet away was a damaged bicycle. Initial Investigations revealed that Juan was riding his bicycle on the side of the road when he was hit by a vehicle travelling to Belize City. The driver did not stop to render aid. He was transported to the Western Regional Hospital suffering from a cut wound to the head. On the 13th of August 2017, he succumbed to his injuries. His body now lies at the KHMH awaiting a post mortem and investigation continues.
